Story
***ADOPTION PENDING***DOB: 3/7/24 Current Weight(as of 10/2/24): 12.5 Lbs Adoption Fee: $350 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Lola has a sweet, lovable, and happy demeanor, and people fall in love with her at first sight. She has about 30 seconds of nervous investigation with each new dog or person she meets, and then she acts like it’s one of the happiest days of her short life! She is full of personality and is constantly causing her foster family to laugh. Lola does well with housebreaking for her age, but she still needs more work. She does have some submissive urination, which is not uncommon in puppies (particularly cocker spaniel puppies). It should improve with age, and it can be minimized by how she is approached. It is important for potential adoptive families to be aware that Lola is extremely high energy, even for a cocker spaniel puppy. She plays with her foster family’s dogs nearly all day long, sometimes to the point of annoyance to the other two dogs. Her original family relinquished her because this play drive caused distress to their cat. Lola sleeps well in her crate through the night with another dog, but she sleeps very little during the day. She’s always on the go! Also, she does not like to be alone. In light of these energy levels and social needs, she would do best with a very active family that has at least one other playful dog and humans who are prepared to help her burn a lot of energy. A fenced yard is required. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.
