Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, my name is Gussie but foster mom lovingly calls me Sadie! I’m a quiet and very beautiful adult female Cocker Spaniel who is still learning about toys, but I enjoy exploring the yard and will usually return with dirt in my nose! Hee, hee!! That said, I love nothing more than to eat, snuggle, sleep…repeat and my favorite sleep spot is either foster mom’s chest or in bed with her…I’m just sayin’!! I don’t mind baths, being brushed, or getting my ears cleaned but I don’t like getting my nails done; new people make me nervous; and loud or sudden noises scare me. In fact, I tend to pace/circle and tremble a lot, so I take daily anxiety medication (with peanut butter…YUUUMMM). This means however, that kids are not a good fit for me unless they are older and respectful of my space. I have not met any cats and I pretty much ignore the chickens here, but I am good with other dogs (I don’t even mind when they try to finish my food (Hee, hee). Anyway, I need a doggie companion at my new home (prefers females) and a fenced yard where we can frolic. I’m a smart girl who knows what “sit” means; I’m good with the crate and leash; and I am, for the most part, potty trained. However, although I try my hardest not to, I do admit that I may have an occasional accident in the house because sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me. My dream fur-ever home is a calm and quiet one with YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I promise not only am I totally worth it, but I will make your world a much happier one if you will simply welcome me into it! Love & snuggles, Gussie *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  S ome of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, I’m Lucy, and I’m a girl of VERY few words so I’m going to get straight to the point. I’m an incredibly sweet, quiet, and laid-back female Cocker Spaniel. I am blind but make no mistake…I still love my life! If you are looking for a loving companion who simply wants to take it easy and enjoy life with you, I’m your girl!  I have met chickens and cats and am completely fine with both.  Given my lack of vision, a fenced yard is easiest but as long as you go out with me, one is not needed.  Leashes and I have a complicated relationship! Not to be braggy, but I am quite smart.  Even though I am blind, I can actually do stairs on my own. Ok, full disclosure only a few and only with supervision.  I am working on getting my weight down and my allergies under control. I am on a raw or fresh prepared/cooked  diet and it is helping me look and feel my best! I was quite overweight at 38 pounds so I have a long way to go and will definitely need an adopter who will be my life coach! So far I have lost 8:pounds and my goal weight is 26 pounds.  I truly am an angel who would love nothing more than to find my fur-ever home with YOU…a very patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me. I have an enormous heart that’s brimming with love to share, and I promise I will shower you with ALL of it if you would simply welcome me into your world! Love, Lucy   Postscript from my foster mom: Lucy is simply amazing. She will make whomever adopts her just marvel at her.  She has a heart of gold and would never hurt anyone or anything.  I think she would be fine with gentle kids.  She is totally housebroken, wonderful in the car, as easy to care for as ever a dog could be! She would make a fabulous therapy dog to visit nursing homes and hospitals.  Her temperament could simply not be better. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, I'm Nancy! Despite being both deaf and blind, I'm a spirited little Cocker Spaniel puppy who's ready to take on the world! Nothing holds me back from exploring and having adventures. I may not be able to hear or see like other pups, but that doesn't stop me from loving life to the fullest. At home, I'm a bundle of energy and joy. I'm always ready to play, play, play! Whether it's tearing up cardboard, chewing on bones, or romping around with my canine companions, I'm happiest when I'm on the move. But don't worry, I also know how to snuggle up and enjoy a good nap when it's time to rest. I'm great with kids and other dogs, big or small. I love making new friends and spreading joy wherever I go. And while I'm still working on my potty training and crate training, I'm making progress every day. I do have some special needs due to my disabilities. I need daily eye cleanings and frequent ear washes to keep me comfortable and healthy. And because I can't see or hear very well, I need a bit of extra supervision to ensure I stay safe, especially when exploring outdoors.  I have what is called "micro eyes" in that my eye ball is very small and my eye lids are then too big for them.  My eye lids fold in and require daily cleanings.  If those cleanings don't seem to be doing the job down the road, I may need surgery to remove my eye balls and/or close my eye lids. We are hopeful that with daily cleanings we can avoid that.  I also came to Underdog with an ear infection, so might need some extra attention to ear cleanings, too. But don't let my disabilities fool you—I'm a brave and independent pup who's eager to experience all that life has to offer. With a loving and patient family by my side, I know I can overcome any obstacle and thrive in a consistent and supportive environment. So if you're looking for a unique and lovable companion who's full of spirit and determination, look no further than me, Nancy! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! My name is Lance, and I'm a handsome Cocker Spaniel weighing in at 28 lbs. I'm an adult, but still full of life and curiosity. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. First off, I'm a super sweet and affectionate guy. I absolutely adore being close to my humans and will happily spend hours snuggled up next to you. I can be a bit hesitant when I first meet new people, but give me a moment, and I'll be your best friend for life. Exploring and running around the fenced yard are some of my favorite activities. I'm quite agile, and you'll love watching me zip around with joy. Indoors, I like to relax and lay next to you, soaking up all the love and attention. Treats are a new and exciting thing for me, and though I take them cautiously, I'm learning just how tasty they can be. I do have a little quirk with my gums, so I prefer to continue eating my frozen raw food to keep them from getting sore. But don't worry, I'm a good eater and haven't had any issues with my meals. Loud noises and overwhelming commotion can startle me, and I'm not a fan of squeaky toys just yet. But with time and patience, I'm sure I'll get used to them. I'm also a bit of a flight risk because I'm still getting the hang of leash walking, so a fenced yard is a must for me. Potty training? Check! I am great going outside on a routine. I'm also crate trained, though I'd much prefer to snuggle up in bed with you and maybe a few other furry friends if you have them. I'm not much of a barker, only chiming in when something really alarms me or when the other dogs start barking. I'm still learning basic commands like "come" and "sit," and with a little more practice, I'll have them down in no time. I don't necessarily need another dog in the house as long as my humans are around most of the time. All in all, I'm a wonderful dog looking for a loving home where I can feel safe, cherished, and part of the family. If you think you could be my forever home, I can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
Cookie is a sweet little cockapoo who is newly retired from commercial breeding. She has spent her life having puppies, but now is happily learning how to be loved.  Cookie has picked up on potty training quickly and does well as long as she’s kept on a schedule. She does not like her kennel or to be restrained very well, so she does not use it much at her foster family’s home. She does not get into anything she’s not supposed to when she is left alone. She rides well in the car and is learning how to walk on a leash, however she is quirky & spunky and does not like to do her business while leashed, therefore a fenced yard would be ideal for her. She stays close and follows her foster mom in the yard, however prefers to follow closely versus be leashed. She’s fairly low energy and prefers naps and snuggling with her human versus exercising. She seems to gravitate towards females and is cautious of males. There are no cats or children at her foster’s home, but there are two resident dogs she gets along with. Cookie would do well in a home with someone who is home most of the time and would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs who don’t mind her doing her own thing. Cookie loves snuggles and is eager to finally find her forever home. She will make someone a wonderful companion. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Meet Bree, the adorable puppy who is eagerly waiting for you! Bree is a playful and lovable cockapoo born 2/2/24 who is searching for his forever family. Bree is mostly blind due to a condition called microphthalmia (small eyes). However, his nose and ears make up for his lack of sight, and he navigates his surroundings with ease. Bree has the sweetest and most mellow personality. He gets along well with people and other pets, although caution is advised with younger children due to his visual impairment. He enjoys both snuggling and playing with toys, and he is making great progress with potty training. He’s quite proud of learning to climb the carpeted stairs! We are still working on going down  he’s a little intimidated with his limited sight   He doesn’t like being in a kennel and prefers to sleep snuggled up in bed with his humans. While he may need some leash training, he absolutely loves being outside and exploring.  A fenced in area or large pen would be ideal for him to run around.  With Bree in your home, your heart will be filled with joy. He is truly a wonderful addition to any family. Will you give this deserving pup a second chance at a happy life? Embrace the opportunity to make a positive impact on both your life and Bree's.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
