He gets along with the dogs he lives with Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Best in a home without kids Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes, does well in the crate when left alone Hello, my name is Maxie, and I am wondering if you like to go for walks and will throw the ball for me? Those are my two favorite things! Oh, and snoozing on the couch, too, after all the fun. I am around 9 years old, but sometimes act younger when its time to play, and sometimes I like to act like a senior dog and snooze on the couch too. I get along with other dogs, especially ones my size. I don't like the crate, but I tolerate it quietly. I can be left out for longer periods of time just fine but my foster dad says that's not fair to the other dogs who are crated, so I just snooze in my crate. I get to sleep on the bed at night, though, and it's just the best! I will chase cats or any other wildlife outside, but other than that I am great on walks. I am fully potty trained, and didn't even have a single accident in the foster house. I love attention and will ask for lots of pets. But sometimes, when I am tired and resting, I prefer to be left alone, and if touched when not looking or asking for pets, it might startle me, and I might accidentally react by snapping. Therefore, I am a bite risk in this scenario. That is the only time my foster dad says I get that way. I am working with a trainer to help me with that. There hasn't been any situations like this in the past few months though, as my foster dad says I am doing really well! I just like to know that I am going to get pets so that I can be ready for them. So best to be in a family with only adults, or older children only. But the neighbor girls next door let me out sometimes, and take me for walks, and I just love them. I am ready to find my forever home as I just love people, and will follow my new family members around the house because I am always just so curious. I am very quick to adapt to new situations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, I'm Trudy, a very timid and shy Cocker Spaniel. I'm only 2 years old and weigh about 20 pounds. Life has been a little overwhelming for me, so I'm still learning to feel safe and loved in a home. I'm a bit of an anxious girl, and loud noises or sudden movements can startle me. I tend to pace and pant both inside and outside, and I get especially scared around doors. I might freeze or even fear pee when someone tries to pick me up, but I'm slowly getting better with time and patience. When I'm in a new place, like the vet or a busy area, I might shake and feel very scared, so a calm and quiet environment is best for me. I'm not potty trained yet, but I'm working on it, and I'm also getting used to my crate, though I can be a bit restless. I recently started taking treats from my foster's hand, which is a big step for me! One thing you should know is that I absolutely love being around other dogs. They help me feel safe, and I rely on them to show me that everything is okay. That's why I need to be in a home with at least one other dog that is confident and social around people. I don't have any experience with leashes, so a fenced yard is required in my forever home. A fenced yard will also keep me safe as I am a flight risk. I'm very sensitive to loud noises, thunderstorms, and even some men, so I'd do best in a home without children and with a kind, patient person or family. Despite my fears, I have a lot of love to give. In the mornings, I do a little happy dance with my wagging stub, which is my special way of showing joy. I'm learning about home life, and with your love, patience, and understanding, I know I can become the sweet, loving companion you've been looking for. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Hi, my name is Maggie. I am the absolute sweetest girl, but I am very scared. I haven't learned how to be a house pup, and do better when there are other animals around to show me it's safe. I'm not sure why, but men scare me and I get extra scared when some are around, it really depends on the guy. My foster is working hard with me to come out of my shell, but it's still early. I want to find my family and learn what love truly is, but I need someone willing to be patient with me and help me to learn. I am ready to start my new life and show you how loving I can be.
