We got Penny from a shelter in Ohio about 1 year ago. She is about 5-6 years old now. I'm looking for a home for her that is quiet and steady. She is a very anxious dog and, although never lashes out or acts out, you can tell she gets scared easily. When our kids are loud or there is work being done in the house (ie carpentry etc) she will hide in a corner and shake. She is otherwise very quiet and reserved, but loving when shown love. And when she opens up she is very playful when she is asked to be. She is overall my perfect pet, but we had a second child a few months ago and since then she has been less of a priority - which is not fair to her.

Lady would truly benefit from having another confident dog in the home—someone who can show her the ropes and help her feel more secure as she settles in. With patience, understanding, and the right canine companion by her side, Lady has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving member of the family. - Around 6 years old - Currently just under 20lbs - Good with dogs (needs confident dog) and cats - Adoption fee: $300 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Include information about your family and pets, what you are looking for in a canine companion, how you plan to exercise and train this dog, and why this specific dog seems like a good fit for your family. Those who provide the previous information will be considered first for this canine. Please do NOT call our center. This will help us match you and the animal the best we can. We usually respond via email within 24-48 hours; please check your spam folder if you don't hear from us. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.
