Story
Coco is an amazing dog, very sweet and loving. We love him so much and we want him to have a great life with someone who has time to give him the love and attention he deserves. He’s been with us for about 5 years but we are so busy lately that he is alone too much time. Coco is very good with kids and loves attention.

ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Shiloh, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My name is Hickory, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I was found as a stray dog. I do have a Cherry Eye which will be fixed by CSAC. You can see that I do have an under bite which makes me look unique. The CSAC volunteer tried to take me for a walk on a leash, but I just sat there. I didn't know what she wanted me to do so I may need more training with that leash thing. The CSAC volunteer said, "Hickory is a very sweet boy. He loved being held. He was giving kisses to everyone who held him. He just wanted to be close to whomever was holding him. He is a very affectionate pup and he stole everyone's heart." Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Story
Caramel, affectionately called Cara by her foster Mom, is looking for a special forever home.  Cara is 6 years old and 35 pounds.   She LOVES food! :-).  Cara needs a calm home in the suburbs with a securely fenced yard.  Cara spent her life having babies for a breeder so she can be nervous around new people.  She takes daily, inexpensive medicine to help lessen her anxiety.  She is currently in an only dog home, and, ideally needs to be the only pup in the home. She did previously live with another calm pup,  Cara is gorgeous!  She is a “go slow” girl at first and once she knows you are not going to hurt her, she’s a total love!  She also loves toys!  Cara is house and crate trained although prefers to live crate free - who can blame a girl! To learn more, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.  She is located in Alexandria, VA and will need an adopter in the northern VA/MD/DC area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2024, 1:17 pm

Story
Hi!  I'm Charlie and I'm looking for my forever home! Let me tell you a few things about me.  I'm 12 years old and 30 pounds.  Yes, I could lose a few pounds, but, can't we all?  LOL.  I'm in a temp foster home with three other pups and I do just fine with them. In my previous home I lived with a cat and grandkids too.  I'm pretty easy going guy.  I'm house trained too.  I'm also very helpful in the kitchen by sitting nicely and waiting for you to drop a few bites. Yum! My only request is for a home with minimal stairs or a family who can help me up the stairs.  I don't mind being lifted at all.  Oh, one other item, this nice rescue had a few growths removed and one on my ear was a very low, low grade cancer with no other follow up needed.  Thanks OBG for saving my life with the surgery.  You're the best! So if you're looking for a nice gentleman to join your family, pick me!  PICK ME!  Send an email to the rescue at adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.  THANK YOU!  I'm located in northern VA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2024, 3:32 pm
