Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at the Warren County Career Center from 11am - 3pm! Meet Lady! A sweet-natured, 15lb, 6-year-old Cockapoo. As a former puppy mill mom, Lady is on a journey to discover life as a "real dog." She is still learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for-cuddles on the couch, leashes and toys (especially ones that squeak) are all new to her. Lady is shy and nervous as she is still learning to trust humans and her new surroundings, but she's making progress every day! Her superpowers include being sweet and well tempered despite her less than pleasant past. She sleeps quietly through the night and shows no signs of aggression. She shakes when approached but usually calms when gently pet. She finds comfort in seeing other dogs and loves to get exercise by prancing around in a safe, fenced in yard. This being said, Lady needs a calm, secure home with a fenced yard and another social dog to help her build confidence. She's looking for a special person who can give her the love and time to flourish! In terms of house training, Lady uses pee pads that are in her playpen attached to her crate during the day when home alone. She has not had any accidents in her crate. She goes to the bathroom outside when given space to roam in a fenced yard. We are optimistic that with time, patience and the right environment she will thrive! Some of her favorite things are freeze-dried chicken treats from Trader Joe's and topping her dry dog food with a little bit of Cesar wet dog food (rotisserie chicken & wood-grilled chicken are her favorites!) If you're ready to provide a warm, patient environment and be a part of her new journey, apply online today to start the adoption process! Lady is being fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ready to meet her forever family. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at the Warren County Career Center from 11am - 3pm! Meet Elsie! Elsie is a 6 year old cocker spaniel weighing 30lbs. Elsie has had a rough start to her life. She is in search of a patient owner who would be willing to help her learn how to be a dog. Elsie needs help with leash training as well as housebreaking. She is ok in a cage but does need to be lead in. She likes tasty treats and is rewarded with those. Elsie is nervous around new people. She does well with dogs and tolerates cats. Elsie would do best in a home with another confident dog to help her learn the ropes as well as a physical fenced in yard. Elsie won't let her past define her future and would love a home of her own. Elsie is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Oliver (9 months old) looking for his furever family! Oliver was surrendered to SRC when his family was no longer able to care for him. Now fully vetted he is looking for his furever family. He is a sweet little boy who loves to play with toys and be with his foster family. Oliver can get a little too assertive playing tug of war if the other dog won’t let him win. He loves to be with his people and loves to run and jump. He loves to go on walks and does well on leash or harness. He is still reactive to others who walk down the street, but warms up to visitors at our home. Oliver will need a patient owner willing to continue to work with him on his manners, energy and chewing. Afterall, he is still in his puppy phase. He currently does not have a fenced yard, but sure would love to have one to run and jump and play outside.
