If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! Story
Grant is a super smart boy! He is 3 years old and has been through basic obedience classes. He loves his rope and will chase it all day long!! He has a lot of energy and does best with the chance to chase his rope several times a day, but is otherwise happy to lay around with his people and get snuggled. He is a lover who wants to snuggle up and hang out with his people. He adores belly rubs! He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them. He gets very excited when he meets other dogs and will bark and whine until he meets them, but is not aggressive. Grant is highly food motivated and will try to guard his food. He has tried to nip toes or fingers over food, but responds well to a a sharp “no!” We are rehoming him because he likes to chase our cat. We adopted him and a litter mate together and feel they have some littermate syndrome that would be best addressed by separating them.
