Story
Barnabus is an amazing pup with a huge love for fetch—give him a ball, and he’s the happiest dog in the world! He’s looking for a gentle and patient adopter who will let him take his time to build trust. Barnabus thrives in a calm environment where he’s spoken to with kindness and allowed to come to you on his own terms. Once he feels secure, his sweet and loyal personality truly shines. While he’s not a fan of constant cuddles right away, Barnabus warms up beautifully with stability and love. He enjoys quiet walks, watching the world go by, and engaging with the people around him. He’s great with kids, other animals, and people, making him a wonderful companion in the right home. Barnabus does have a quirky growl, but don’t be alarmed—it’s his way of asking for attention, especially when he wants to play! He’s been misunderstood in the past, but in the right hands, he’ll flourish into the perfect, devoted best friend. If you’re ready to offer Barnabus the care, understanding, and love he deserves, he’s ready to meet you! Fill out an application today to bring this playful and protective boy into your life.

Story
Meet Monty — the senior sweetheart who proves that joy doesn’t come with an age limit. Monty may be 10, but he greets every day like it’s the best one yet. This cheerful French Brittany has a goofy sparkle in his eye and a heart that melts anyone lucky enough to meet him. His morning routine? A burst of zoomies, a quick patrol of the yard, and a proud parade with his favorite soft toy. Mealtime is Monty’s personal celebration. He’ll woo-woo sing and bounce with excitement, but the moment you ask him to sit, he becomes the picture of manners. He loves his toys, his people, and his cozy evening rituals—chewing a Benebone, enjoying a Greenie “dessert,” and settling in for snuggles as the day winds down. His teeth are in great shape, and he’s got none of that typical senior-dog breath. Monty is a world-class cuddler who bonds deeply with his humans. Once he trusts you, he’ll lean his whole body against you in the sweetest “you’re my person” hug. He loves watching birds and squirrels, and he’ll happily alert you to backyard visitors with a bark, a whine, or a little excited shimmy. Because of his reduced depth perception and strong prey drive, he’ll need a secure 6-foot fenced yard and a home without cats or small animals. He thrives in a calm, adult-only home and enjoys respectful teens. A single-story home or one with minimal stairs would be perfect for him. Monty does get anxious in the car, so he’s looking for adopters in Colorado or within a few hours of Denver. If you’re searching for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your home with warmth and laughter, Monty is ready to choose you. The adoption fee for Monty, who lives in Highlands Ranch, CO is $250, which helps offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Monty a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Please note if you are 65 and over you may adopt Monty for a reduced adoption fee of $150! Your state coordinator/volunteer will conduct a phone interview, home visit and vet check as part of the approval process.  Once all 3 have been approved, we will begin the matching process.  Special Needs:  &#226&#128&#139Positive for Tick Borne Disease; Anaplasma.  He has completed his 30 days of antibiotics called Doxycycline.  He may always test positive on an annual senior blood panel for this under antibodies, but he is 100% sympton free and NO issues!  He has seen our vet and been given a clean bill of health!   March 7, 2026, 3:26 pm

Story
Maple is a 2.5-year-old French Brittany who packs a whole lot of charm into her perfect 25-pound frame. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Meatball,” and honestly…it fits. She’s adorable, goofy, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to her people. Maple LOVES car rides, plush toys, and curling up next to you for belly rubs. She didn’t get much freedom or enrichment in her early life and likely spent most of her time in a kennel, so she came to us needing a refresher on potty training and some basic house habits. She’s made steady progress but still needs a patient family willing to keep her routine consistent. She can be a bit curious and may check out items that aren’t technically “hers,” so keeping tempting things out of reach and offering plenty of dog-safe toys will set her up for success. Maple does well in her kennel when her people are out of the house. She may give a little protest bark at first (she just has to make sure you know she has notes), but she settles down and rests quietly once she realizes she’s safe. Maple is not a dog that can live with or closely interact with other dogs. Through training, she has made progress in calmly seeing dogs at a distance with positive reinforcement, but pushing those interactions too quickly can cause anxiety for her. For her comfort and safety, she must be an only dog, and a fenced-in yard (ideally privacy fenced) would suit her best so she can explore and enjoy the outdoors stress-free. She’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Maple has mastered “sit", and is working on more tricks, but needs a little patience since she isn’t very food motivated. Maple is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Now she’s just waiting for a family who sees how special she is and can give her the structure, love, and dog-free home she deserves. Maple is currently in foster care in Wisconsin and has an adoption donation fee of $400.  If you are interested in adopting her and have been approved to adopt, let your state coordinator know you are interested in her.  If you haven’t yet done so, please go to: https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application to fill out an application.  Your state coordinator will contact you and take you through the approval process.  If your application looks like a possible fit for her, your coordinator will contact Maple’s coordinator and continue the screening process. Maple’s state coordinator is Hallie Barbara. She can be reached at Minnesotabrittany@gmail.com for questions or inquires.   Thank you for considering this sweet girl.  March 7, 2026, 3:26 pm

Story
Scout is a dog that loves attention. He would do very well as an only dog as he does not play that much with my other dog and is what you would call a Velcro dog. He will follow you wherever you go and misses you when you are not around. He would be great for a person that lives alone or a family that would pay attention to him and play with him. He is almost 3 years old and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is house trained and will go into a kennel and stay there for a while. He will go for walks but is anxious in a car. He also gets along with dogs but I do not know about cats. Does not have any allergies and eats well. Scout needs a lot of attention and would be great for someone who has the time to be his best friend as he will most certainly be your best friend.
