Hi, my name's Dodger. I'm an older Cocker Spaniel, and for a long time, I was living with a family that neglected me before dumping me on the streets of Los Angeles. I had no home, no one to care for me, and I was in so much pain. I was sick and covered in fleas, my mouth hurt from rotting teeth, and the bladder stones inside me were causing horrible bleeding. I just didn't have the strength to fight anymore. But then, Beagle Freedom Project found me! They rushed me to the vet where I got the urgent care I needed. The doctors performed a big surgery to remove huge bladder stones that were causing me to bleed internally, and they pulled out all my decayed teeth that had been infected for who knows how long. It's hard to believe, but I'm finally starting to feel a little better. Right now, I'm recovering in my foster home, where I feel safe and loved, but I still need a forever home where I can live out my golden years! Once I trust you, I'm such a friendly girl. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. The adoption fee for a puppy is generally $495 - $525. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. Megatron was rescued after people witnessed him being beaten by a mentally ill homeless person. We are just guessing at the breed/mix. He’s adorable and loving. He can be a bit barky when excited but he is easily redirected. Good with other dogs and cats. Would probably be fine as an only dog as well. Great in the car. Loves car rides. He does sometimes get weary of strangers approaching him in public - if they come on too strong. No bite history but we definitely think he has some emotional baggage after what he went through on the mean streets.
