All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday,November 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered. Adoption Fee: $700 Bixby is a 4 year old Cocker Spaniel mix who is ready to love his foster home to bit-sby! Bixby was rescued from the shelter after being surrendered for reasons unknown. What we do know is that this distinguished gentleman is ready to make life wonderful for his forever home! Bixby hopped right into our car and headed to afternoon tea with his rescuer. He enjoyed his scones and his TLC and then snuggled into our arms and made us promise we’d find him the perfect forever home. With his gorgeous coloring and his low-rider ears, this dude will be the talk of the Ton. If you’re looking for your new best friend, come and meet Bixby! Bixby is an affectionate, loyal, and handsome gentleman looking to find his happily ever after! Bixby loves being wherever his people are, lying next to you on the couch or ambling along on a neighborhood walk. He loves being pet and is always happy to roll over onto his back for a belly rub. Bixby is an ideal WFH companion as he is content to do his own thing as long as you’re in the area. He will snooze through a busy agenda of Zoom meetings and strategy sessions, don’t worry! (He does his best work with his eyes closed, we promise). Bixby does love to play when he’s ready for some excitement and loves a good game of tag. He has a pile of squeaky toys that he eagerly displays when he is ready to get his zoomies out in the living room. Bixby would love a home with room for him to explore and he would be thrilled to show off his zoomies in a yard. Bixby is the perfect size for any adventure you have in mind and with his fabulous ears, he turns heads wherever he goes. You’ll be the talk of the town with our man Bixby! Bixby wakes up around 7 AM and goes for a stroll around the neighborhood to stretch his legs and go potty. He gets breakfast around 9 AM and then settles in for a morning nap in the sunshine. He spends the early afternoon snacking followed by another walk and some playtime. Once his foster family returns home from the workday, he enjoys a snack and some cuddles. He heads out for an evening trot before he comes home for dinner at 7:30 PM. In the evening, he soaks up all the cuddles on the couch until he’s ready for bed. He goes out for one last potty and enjoys a few more pets before he goes to bed in his pen for the night. Bixby gets along with dogs given a slow introduction. Bixby walks well on a leash and is always excited to sniff a new smell. Bixby would prefer an adult only or older teen home, as he can sometimes get startled by abrupt noises or grabby hands. However, he can’t wait to shower his people in all the love he has in his heart. If you’re ready to meet this handsome gentleman, come and meet our boy, Bixby!
