Story
Penny is a sweet and loving dog who just needs the right home! Meet Penny: Your Future Cuddle Buddy! Penny is a delightful 7-8 year old 50 % Cocker Spaniel, who is ready to find her forever home! (Her DNA is included) She is housebroken and spayed, and she enjoys the convenience of a doggy door. Penny does well in a crate, making her a great companion for those who need to manage her space at times. While she adores being around her humans and loves to cuddle, Penny prefers to be the only dog in the household. She can be jealous of other dogs, so she would flourish in a home where she can be the center of attention! Unfortunately, she doesn't do well with small children, particularly toddlers, so a quiet adult home or one with older children (teens) would be ideal. Penny is affectionate and needy in the best way, always ready for a snuggle session. She’s also a bit of a food thief—watch out for your sandwiches, as she might swipe them if they’re within reach! On the brighter side, she loves to go for rides and walks, making her the perfect adventure buddy. Her coat is incredibly soft, and she'll surely bring warmth and love to your life. We are very sad to be rehoming her, but we know that she will make someone very happy! If you’re looking for a sweet companion who thrives on attention and affection. We have a Facebook page and hope that you will “Like” us at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561870361467 see postings of some of our dogs. Penny could be the perfect match for you. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Meet Diva. How can you resist that precious face!! Diva joined the NorCal family when one of her owners passed away and the other was disabled and unable to take care of her. Diva is an easy going, sweet girl, that would love to snuggle next to you on the couch. She gets along with other dogs, loves the attention of people, rides well in the car and is potty trained, with a doggy door. In typical cocker style, Diva would be in her happy place, next to you!! Diva has been fully vetted and other than being overweight she is a healthy girl. Unfortunately, Diva's obesity is our number one concern. She will need to be on a strict diet for an extended period of time and will need to loose at least 10lbs. It will be important to start out with some short walks until she gains some strength and stamina. If you are interested in this precious girl, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Story
Meet Marvin. You will instantly fall in love with this precious boy. Marvin joined the NorCal Family when his owners could no longer take care of him. His chronic ear infections became so painful and infected that it was necessary to have his ear canals removed. Marvin is not quite ready for adoption yet, due to his ear surgery. He needs a couple more weeks to heal, but we are hopeful he will soon be pain free and ready to find his forever home. In the meantime we are enjoying Marvin's affectionate, loving personality. He loves to have his tummy rubbed and will give you a gentle paw, asking for more pets. Marvin loves his walks, car rides and is good with other dogs. We will keep you posted on Marvin's progress and let you know when he is ready to be adopted. Please don't be scared away by Marvin's deafness. We don't think Marvin knows he is deaf. :-) He still loves to bark.

Story
Meet Henry. This sweet boy came to us when his owners could no longer care for him. Henry would love to be with someone that would take him on walks and car rides, snuggle with him on the couch, let him sleep on the bed with you and give you years of wonderful companionship. Henry will make you smile and laugh with his sweet moans and groans; just his way of talking to you. He would be in his happy place if he was an only dog. Henry has been to the Vet and has a clean bill of health. The Vet and the Groomer are not his favorite places to go, but overall Henry is a sweet, affectionate, loving boy. If you are interested in Henry, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Story
Meet Oliver. Oliver joined the NorCal family when was found as a stray. We rescued him from the San Jose Shelter. Oliver's foster mom has described him as a really happy boy, with lots of puppy behavior. Oliver is about 5 years old, 27-pound male. He is a handsome guy with wavy hair and a spray of freckles on his nose. Oliver is VERY happy and affectionate boy. He wants to be with his person at all times. A Velcro dog for sure!! He needs daily exercise and lots of toys to chew on. He is okay living with other dogs. He knows some commands. Oliver is housebroken, quiet and walks easily on a loose leash. Oliver sleeps with his foster mom. He puts everything in his mouth, is a counter surfer and grabs things and runs. If left to his own devices, he will chew holes in blankets, clothing, furniture and shoes. So you must keep plenty of those chew toys on hand. Oliver is somewhat reactive to seeing other dogs, while on walks, will pull on his leash. Oliver needs an experienced dog owner who will take the time to train him. Oliver is a sweet, affectionate boy that deserves a loving forever home. Oliver has been fully vetted and is in good health. If you are interested in Oliver, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Story
Hans and Sally will melt your heart. They joined the NorCal Family when their owners moved out of the country and could no longer care for them. Hans and Sally love to cuddle and will wait to be asked to join you on the couch or bed. They are not counter surfers but will clean your floor if you drop bits of food. On the Velcro scale, Hans is an 8.5 and Sally is a 6, often wandering off to see what other people are doing or find some tissues in small garbage cans. Sally can open baby gates, and will give the student proverbial “my dog ate my homework” excuse (actually, she just shreds paper). In your absence, she will look for a sock (from a laundry basket) or shoe to keep near her. Hans and Sally eat and drink from the same sources often at the same time. They love car rides, but haven’t figured out how to get in the car on their own yet. They are easy to bathe; Sally doesn’t like the hair dryer, Hans doesn’t mind it. They are working on leash training, as well as “wait,” “quiet,” and “stay.” Hans is laid back and easy going, Sally wants to be the boss. Both are getting acclimated to new sounds and situations, like people coming in the home or other people walking their dogs (on their street). Both dogs enjoy being off-leash at the dog park, but haven’t figured out that it’s a place to play with other dogs, preferring to stay close to people. Neither have figured out that balls are for retrieving. What they need: attention, cuddles, petting, and love. Hans and Sally have been fully vetted and are in good health, other than Sally's challenging ear infections. If you are interested in Hans and Sally, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application. You will notice from the pictures that Hans and Sally took good care of each other when they had to wear their "cone of shame" after spay and neutering. :-)
