Story
We adopted Callie in May thinking she would be a good match for my mother but she was not. She is an aggressive barker when meeting new people and my mom lives in a busy retirement community. Callie needs to live in a quiet country home. She is quite apprehensive about meeting strangers. She especially does not like people who smell of cats! She is very loving. She joyfully greets the morning and is thrilled to see you return home. She will shadow you everywhere and does not even like to eat alone. She loves to run around her fenced back yard and enjoys occasional 2 mile walks. Callie's first family was a loving home of 9 years but they did not think she would adapt well to a newborn baby since she is such a lap dog so they were forced to give her up. I work full time & hate to leave her alone too much. Plus my boyfriend has 7 cats so Callie hates him and we are struggling. She would love to be home with a quiet retiree. If you need a loving companion, Callie is your girl!

Story
A couple of weeks ago we took in several Cocker Spaniels/Cock-a-poos who had been used for breeding. They are now retired and ready to live the good life as a family pet. Xena is one of these beautiful girls. Xena is the sweetest 10 year old lady! Despite her previous living situation, she has taken to living in a home quite well. She absolutely loves getting petted and receiving attention. She has great manners and will walk to the door when she needs to go out. As you can see, Xena is a bit overweight, so she will need an active adopter. Someone who can walk her daily and encourage regular exercise. For a dog that has probably never been on a leash, she does very well. She loves going for walks and checking out the scenery. If she feels you walking too slow for her, she does give a little tug to speed up. She is currently around dogs of all sizes and does very well. She does prefer that male dogs give her space sometimes. She doesn't overreact, but she does let them know. She does great around kids as well. Xena will go in a crate but doesn't really need one. She has been spayed, micro-chipped and is up to date on vaccinations. She did test positive for heartworms so we have started her on medication. She can continue the medication in her new home which is covered by Homes Fur Hounds. My name is Winston and I am a 6-year-old male poodle mix that is only 12 to 14 lb of pure love. My family has had a sudden and tragic break up and my mom had to go live with her sister and I could not come with her. She had big dogs that might hurt me and Critter Cavalry has helped me and her by offering to find me a good home. I have lived with young children and I love them. I am good with other dogs as long as they don't try to overpower me and scare me. I love to go for car rides and I love to sit in your lap and have you tell me how much you love me. I am a little nervous right now because I don't know what is going on with all the anger that has been around me. I am ready for a peaceful and loving family to adopt me. I am housebroken and I have been good around the foster mom's other big dogs and cats. Everyone has been so nice to me and I'm ready to be nice and loving back in a new home. I walk great on a leash except I do pull a little bit. You see, my former mom didn't take me for walks very much but I sure hope someone will do that in the future when I go live with them. I am ready for a fresh start where there's no angry voices but only kindness. Story
  My name is Charo and I am a senior girl poodle that is 12-13  years old and I weigh approximately 16 lb. My beloved senior mom is very ill and she is having to give up her precious little girls and Critter Cavalry Rescue is helping us find new homes.  As you can see in these pictures that were just made, I'm a little scared and really don't know what has just happened in my life. Critter Cavalry is reassuring me every minute of the day, that they will do great things for me. They have promised that they find me a wonderful family or person to love me for many years to come. I may be a senior, but I don't act like it. I don't have an ounce of arthritis and I am perky and spunky and would love to go for walks with you every day and snuggle with you. I haven't been on a leash a whole lot, but I know I would love getting out and seeing the world from the sidewalk with a new mom. I am healthy and I am spayed and I am microchipped and I have had blood work done. I look terrific on paper and I look even better in person. I am good with other dogs and cats and I'm a little shy with people at first but I haven't really gotten out a lot in my life. I've just been with my mom and my sisters. Story
This beautiful little girl is a white poodle who's senior mom has fallen very very ill and can no longer take care of her and the other dogs in her home. Cremona is a 9 to 10 lb poodle girl that is 13 to 14 years of age and in excellent health. She was just taken in by our rescue and we are learning what an amazingly sweet little girl she is. Cremona is quiet, crate trained, and a little lap girl that loves you fiercely.  Of course right now she is very shy and scared.  She has lived with other dogs of all sizes is fine with all.   Cats are her Friends as well. She seems to be housebroken and even though she has very few teeth, she has an excellent appetite and probably could add a few healthy pounds to her body. We are looking for a home that will treat this senior girl with all the best that life can give. She has many more years to live happily as a bad snuggler and companion. We have done blood work on her and all has appeared to be exceptionaly good in results.
