Story
Jolene and Ruby are 2 of the cutest, most lovable rambunctious puppies you’ll ever meet. Born November 1st, 2024 – these pups have got it all going on. Mom is a silky terrier mix (yorkie mix ultimately) and dad is a poodle – They currently weigh about 4 lbs and we estimate they won’t get bigger than 15 lbs (mom is a little bigger). Jolene is the blonde wirehair pup (does not seem to shed), and the foster named her Jolene because it’s guaranteed she’s going to steal your man. Ruby is the black and white one (almost spaniel looking!), and she was name after the Kenny Rogers song “Ruby, don’t take your love to town”. Both puppies are so outgoing, so sweet, and some of the most well socialized puppies. They’re not afraid of anything or trying anything. They’ve been fostered with all age children and do WONDERFUL with kids. They love to play with them! They’re currently being fostered with other dogs (7!) and cats and have no issues at all. They would do great with other animals in the home to play with as they get bored easily. Ruby and Jolene love their toys, love getting into everything and being your normal havoc causing puppies. They are working on house training and pad training. There’s nothing bad we can say about these puppies. If you’re looking for a lifelong companion, a puppy who will keep you on your toes and entertained for a long time to come, please consider adopting 1, or both, of these amazing girls. We will more likely have a high number of applicants for these girls – If you’re interested in adopting we strongly recommend filling out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org sooner than later as we do go in order as received. These puppies are current on age appropriate vaccinations, preventions, dewormer, microchipped and will have their health certificate issued by a veterinarian prior to receiving the puppy.

Approximate Age: 5 Approximate Weight: 30 lbs I just arrived to ODHS but the humans promised to update my bio as they learn more about me! Put in an application and come meet me soon. You can still come adopt me or even join our foster program to help the humans learn all the awesome things about new dogs like me! Learn more on our website! Hope to see you soon! ********************************************************************* Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. Educational article: 3/3/3 rule: https://www.rescuedogs101.com/bringing-new-dog-home-3-3-3-rule/?fbclid=IwAR2iv5m7fqk3FieO7LOsstGeGsYYV_F1rJOd1BPxaImofLpcinpYsUbFRWs Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and 11 to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization.
