Story
Carter and Cooper found themselves in an unfortunate situation, ending up in a high-kill shelter in Quebec after their owner could no longer care for them. These two sweethearts had spent many years being loved and cared for in the warmth of their home. As their time was running out, a rescue organization stepped in to save Cooper, the cockapoo, but didn’t have space for his brother Carter. When we heard the news, we knew we couldn’t let them be separated. The bond between them was too strong—after all, they’re the only family and sense of familiarity they have left. So, despite being full we welcomed them both into our rescue to ensure they stay together. They’ve received all the medical attention they need, and Cooper has now been neutered. Both around seven years old, Carter and Cooper love all dogs and thrive on human companionship. They walk beautifully on a leash and would be happiest in a home where they can hang out together. They’re low-energy, have wonderful temperaments, and would love nothing more than to cuddle up for a belly rub. These two truly are the perfect pair and deserve a second chance at a loving home. Meet Bruno! Your New Best Friend is Waiting at Just Paws! Let’s give a warm welcome to BRUNO, a spirited, loving 2-year-old Cockapoo weighing around 25 lbs! This adorable pup was recently surrendered because his owner couldn’t give him the time he needed, so they made the difficult decision to find Bruno a family who can. Bruno’s a friendly, cuddly guy with a big heart. He’s great on a leash, loves his walks, and can’t resist a tasty treat or a good chew stick. In his foster home, he enjoys watching the world go by from the window and happily greets visitors, especially if they have treats! Bruno’s also happy to snuggle up on the couch and share some relaxing time with his foster dad. Bruno's Perfect Home: Bruno has plenty of energy, and he’s happiest with a secured fenced yard to run around in—a condo or apartment wouldn’t be a good match for him. He would thrive in a home where he won’t be left alone for long stretches since he can get a bit lonely and mischievous. Crates are a no-go for him, but he’s done well with some alone time in his foster home so far. Bruno’s house training is very good! He’s friendly with respectful children and may do well with a female dog sibling, though he’s never had a canine companion before. He would likely not be a match for a home with cats. Bruno’s coat might not be hypoallergenic, so those with allergies should keep this in mind. We’re still getting to know Bruno, so stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about this sweet boy!
