Story
Meet Poppy! This shy, sweet girl is a 6-year-old, 20lb miniature poodle. She has spent her life in a puppy mill as a breeder dog but it's time to put those days behind her and learn the joys of being a companion dog. Walks and outdoor time are new adventures to Poppy but her personality shines when she is outside in the warm sunshine. Her tail wags continuously as she explores the back yard. She enjoys shorts walks daily and does really well on a leash. She will need a fenced yard or to be on a leash at all times when outside as loud noises do scare her and may cause her to run. Poppy is puppy pad trained but is also doing great at going to the bathroom outside. She does well around her foster family’s dog and cat. She would likely do well in a household with another dog of a gentle nature to show her the ropes and help her feel secure. Poppy is skittish of loud noises and somewhat uncertain of men. Because she scares easily, a quieter household with no small children would be best. Her adopter will need to have some patience with her as it may take a bit to gain her trust. But, once you do, she gives the sweetest little kisses and really just wants to be wherever her person is. She adores her foster sister and pretty much follows her around the house. No doubt Poppy will thrive in a calm household that will continue to give her the love and support she needs and deserves. If you are looking for an easygoing dog that enjoys the outdoors but is also down for a snuggle on the couch, she might be your perfect match! Poppy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. Story
Meet Teddy, a 2-year-old, 12-pound mini poodle who has a very soft golden colored coat and has so many cuddles to give. Teddy was rescued from a shelter and has made himself at home quite quickly. Teddy is full of energy and would be most happy in a fenced yard to run and play. He is doing nicely with leash training. Teddy is crate trained having no messes and sleeping through the night. He’d rather not spend too much time in his crate during the day and would rather follow you around, play, or perhaps catch a nap with you. He is such a good snuggler. Teddy is housebroken and is kept on a schedule to help him continue to be successful. Teddy has been around several dogs while in his foster home and gets along with everyone. He has not been around cats. Teddy has been around kids and would make the perfect companion for kiddos of all ages. Teddy fits the lap dog & playful pup profile. He is ready to show his love and devotion to the perfect person or family. Teddy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00.
