Story
Ryder is a sweet, eight-year-old Coton de Tulear boy who has had a rough start in life being used for breeding.He’s a sweet boy, but a little timid at first. He’s been good with his pee pads, but is newly neutered and due to the extent of his dental disease has had all of his teeth removed. Because of this we do ask for him to stay on a wet food diet. Health-wise he feels like a new man and with time his hair will grow out allowing his beautiful white fur to really show!He has now completed a month long series of surgeries and medications to aid in his recovery- which means Ryder is the first of his relatives to be ready for adoption!He would do well in a home that will give him an opportunity to blossom his personality, and he really does truly love being spoiled with soft treats, pets and brushing!We are pre-approving applicants. To schedule an appointment, first fill out our adoption application ( https://cb8f5fb7-0a87-40fa-8ea5-50c4da40acd3.filesusr.com/ugd/c8cb9f_8cd13866ecd54a42a2b424d2b2f8dc10.pdf ). This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.
