Meet JJ, a 4-Month-Old Chow Mix with a Big Personality! At just 4 months old and already 30 pounds, JJ is on track to be a big, lovable companion! This high-energy pup adores other dogs and is always ready for playtime, zoomies, and making new furry friends. Because of his breed, size, and enthusiasm, JJ would do best in a home without small children. We would love for JJ to go to an adopter who has experience with the Chow breed. If you’re ready for a fun, active pup who’s growing fast and full of love, JJ could be your perfect buddy! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. The votes are IN and we ARE the WINNERS!! Found at the side of a country road (very common dumping ground, next to the railroad tracks), and saved by a wonderful "foster" and her husband and son and other doggy friends :) We started living like REAL loved puppies the day she saved us!! We are learning potty training and are crate trained experts!! We are leash training as well, but you have to understand.... we were never loved, never lived IN a home and NEVER had ANYONE CARE!!! So, potty trained or not, we are over the moon (and so is our foster mom). But now it is time to find our furever homes! We love and play very well together and would be ideal as a pair, but do NOT have to be adopted together. We need another calm and confident dog to keep us happy/played with and to teach us all we need to know about being loved pups :) We are gorgeous pups and our coats will accent your hair :) ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

I have 2 chow chows from 8 weeks old. Corkey is 3 years old. He’s house trained. No aggression. He wants to be around other dogs and children. I have a black fam ale who is 2 year old and no neutered. I’d love for them to be together. She too is non aggressive and house trained. I am 64 and live in an apartment. I am disabled and can no longer care for them.

It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization.
