Story
Meet Wyatt! This handsome chow chow was found on the streets of Harrisburg and taken to the shelter. Our rescue was contacted to see if we had room in our rescue as this breed does not do well in a shelter situation. One of our amazing fosters stepped up and this lucky boy is now enjoying himself in the fresh air and sunshine today. A huge thank you to Paula for helping Wyatt on his journey to a better life! Wyatt is not your typical chow as he warmed up to Paula and friends quickly. She reports that he enjoys being brushed and even fell asleep. He is a quiet observer of dogs and people passing by her home. We will know more about this sweet boy as he settles into his foster home. If you are interested in adopting Wyatt please send us a message for an application. Breed experience recommended but not required. Home visit and adoption donation required.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.10/27 Still available! 8/6/24 Sundance. He and his brother Butch (who is adopted) were surrendered to a shelter when their owners divorced. They were unfortunately on the euthanasia list. How anyone can surrender their two senior dogs to a shelter is mind blowing, but we'll just be happy we were able to pull them from the shelter and find them homes!  The shelter said Sundance was about 9 years but we suspect more like 10-12 years old. He was in rough shape at the shelter and had to be shaved down because he was so matted. He is a low key boy and doesn't ask for much. He is good with other dogs as well as cats. He's about 70 pounds and we believe is a Chow mix. He has some arthritis and is on Glucosamine and Meloxicam for that. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Let's find Sundance a home with a nice, comfy orthopedic bed and all the love in the world to live out his senior days! located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Story
Appa (pronounced Papa without the P) needs immediate adoption due to the death of a family member. He has an adoring and quirky personality once he gets to know someone. He is 6 years old and 55-65lbs. When Appa sees other dogs, he usually sniffs around and then just lays down because he is super lazy, but he’s not the biggest fan of human strangers because he is protective of trusted owners, specifically when in the home. He is perfect on walks but when he see squirrels he gets excited. Appa, like all chows, takes a few days to get used to someone and it is best to leave him be and let him approach. Appa is completely house trained and loves being in the car and generally exploring the house. He is fit for apartment life. Appa hates being blow dried but is okay with baths, and he loves getting belly rubs and lots of pets from trusted owners. Otherwise, Appa can be independent and doesn’t always need human attention. Appa also comes with his harness, leash, and a supply of meds!

Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Story
Hooti can't seem to stop havin' a hoot! This puppy is having the time of her life right now and can't wait to be adopted by a loving, caring, and fun-having family! Hooti was rescued by a very nice foster and is currently learning how to be the best puppy ever. She's working on crate and house training and doing okay in both. Hooti tends to be a screamer when she's in the crate and knows your about to let her out. Hooti tends to sleep through the night but might need a potty break. Hooti is your typical puppy who loves to play and chews on things, she loves playing hard with other dogs but might be a bit too much with littles and seniors. She tends to chase cats. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
