Story
Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he is around 2 years old. He was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies and was rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. We do not know how he would do with cats. Clifford is a very good boy. He is crate-trained, sits on command, and walks well on a leash. Texas is extremely hot, and Clifford is happy to be in his crate inside the air-conditioned house. We are working on housetraining and he could probably use other gentle obedience training. Clifford rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting into the vehicle. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. Clifford is sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. We are sure he was not treated well by whoever had him before. Clifford needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he becomes happy and playful. Clifford deserves a wonderful home. He must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-free. He gets monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford is ready to change his zip code. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to a scheduled stop closest to you. Stops include, but are not limited to, Parsippany NJ, Hampton NJ, or Nanuet NY. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this wonderful boy. Story
Introducing sad senior Hercules! Always wanted a Chow but need a smaller, less fluffy dog? This guy is the perfect pocket sized mix at about 25lbs but with the looks and shy aloof loyal personality of a Chow Chow. This 8.5 year old mix was surrendered when the new baby was allergic and is such a sensitive soul already that he’s really taken the life change hard. He’s not been aggressive at all, just isn’t the type to run up and greet strangers and has to take his time to warm up to new people and places. His sad tragic facial expression and slow Eeyore-like movements are actually partially medical in origin- his bloodwork showed he was severely hypothyroid. We love hypothyroid diagnosis’s- it’s so inexpensive and easy to treat with just a magic daily pill and all their skin issues, sluggishness, and extra pounds are easily resolved! He’s been doing well on his medication and getting neutered, a dental, and his cherry eye repaired and will be ready for a home very soon. He’s been housebroken and crate trained in foster, a quiet easy keeper. He likes meeting other dogs, but can get annoyed if they bother him when sleeping or eating so would be fine as an only dog or just needs his own separate space at times. We aren’t sure what his actual mix is or if there really is any chow in there, but he could be corgi, Shiba Inu, Chihuahua, Pom, or a bunch of other breeds mixed together. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Hercules in Northern NJ during adopt a senior month! Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Meet Chance. He is being fostered in Athens TN east TN. Out of state welcome. Transport to the north east and Great Lakes areas available and if you’re seeing this on adopt a pet the transport fees are included in his adoption fee. We use rescue riders for our pet transport because they are the best on the road! Chance is a sweetie pie. He looks big but he is such a little thing only 30lbs fully grown. He does have a bigger head than body but it just makes him more cute. He’s great with other dogs and doesn’t know a stranger. He was a stray that likely had been either kicked really hard in his rear end or gotten hit by a car we hope it was a car and that no one would do such a thing. He is current on all vaccines and is neutered and chipped. He does great in his crate and is potty trained. He’s pretty chill and his previous injury is likely why. His vet appt went well and x rays revealed old injury that has healed and bones have fused. He cannot lift his tail straight up or even as high as his hip (but he has no problem wagging it and letting you know he adores you). He sometimes limps on his back right leg but sometimes he runs full force on it. He may develope some arthritis in his old age but til then nothing is stopping this kid from living his best life and being the amazing boy he is. Since he was a stray previously we prefer his new home have a fence. He is such a precious soul. Everyone who meets him are instantly in love with him. Apply at pet path.org

Story
Mandy is the cutest, silliest, happiest little girl. It takes her a secomd to warm up to some new folks, but once she does, she is the best. Mandy is only about 35 lbs and 2 years old. She is like a little pygmy Chow! Mandy is goofy and friendly, but does have a slight stubborn side on occassion, so knowing this breed type is a must. Does well with dogs and people and cats, but can be a touch nervous around some new men. Mandy is happy and silly and loves her toys. She is okay with kids, BUT not a kids dog. A must meet, for she will steal your heart for sure. A fenced yard is important.  LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions! We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER dogs are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health.  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $695 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)  November 12, 2024, 6:34 am

Story
Velma is super! She is friendly and social and loves everyone. Velma is only about 1 year old and 35 lbs of wiggles and fun. She is very chow and is good with other dogs, and we can cat test. Breed experience is important with this type of dog, as is a fenced yard. She uses a dog door like a champ and loves to go for walks and is good in the car. All in all, a super little companion dog. We do not place this type of breed with little kids, for while she is friendly, we prefer kids with more experience around dogs. A must meet, for Velma will steal your heart for sure. Story
Rusty enjoys a slower pace of life. He loves to be rubbed and hang out on the couch. He does enjoy his walks. He gets along with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. He is a happy go lucky boy. He has hip issues so long walks aren't recommended. He does like walking leisurely around the yard. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He can travel to anywhere in the US and Canada. ##1501779##
