Story
Meet Raven the 6yr Chow/Shar Pei Mix! Raven has the typical Chow personality- she is laid back, independent and can be stubborn at times. She has had a difficult past and she is still learning to trust people. Raven can become reactive to new people who do not respect her boundaries, especially men (ex. getting in her face, grabbing at her, etc). Her adoptive family will need to be patient with her while she is getting acquainted and comfortable. Once warmed up, she is a loyal and loving girl! Raven loves being around her people, sunbathing in the backyard, carrying around her toys, and of course napping. She tends to have a relaxed temperament at home, but she still gets in playful moods. She'll get the zoomies every once in a while, and she loves walks! Raven requires a home with no children under 16. She would love a fenced yard, however this is not required. Raven can be dog selective, but she tends to do well with other laid-back pups. She has not been tested with cats, but we feel she would do well as long as properly introduced. Most importantly, she is looking for a family who will move at her pace and will work with her as she is getting comfortable. A home with prior experience working with reactive/anxious pups is highly recommended. We will be working closely with her adoptive family to answer any questions and ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible. Raven is up to date on vaccines, fixed, microchipped, HW- and recently had a dental done. She is house trained and crate trained. Does Raven sound like a good fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)!
