Story
Clifford the big red dog is mostly Chow. He weighs around 70 pounds and is estimated to now be around 3 years old. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies and was rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He especially loves puppies, small dogs, and gentle children. We do not know how he would do with cats. Clifford is a very good boy. He is crate-trained, sits on command, and walks well on a leash. It is extremely hot here in Texas and Clifford is happy to be in his crate inside the air-conditioned house. We are working on housetraining (teaching him that just because the little dogs pee in the house does not mean that he can). Clifford could probably use other gentle obedience training. Clifford rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting into the vehicle. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. Clifford is sensitive and will hide from angry voices, rough treatment, and mean dogs. We are sure he was not treated well by whoever had him before. Clifford needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he becomes happy and playful. Clifford deserves a wonderful home. He must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-free. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Glastonbury, Danbury, Lisbon CT, or another stop closest to you. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this gentle boy. Story
Cocoa is the most remarkably gorgeous, special, black lion of pup ever to walk the earth. This girl was purchased as a puppy by a home who lived in the heart of the town. She were fine with her trotting around doing whatever she’d like, so this girl learned to navigate walking the sidewalks and crossing streets, meeting up with random stray dogs and living the life of a family dog who also had a bit of a life of her own. She has a remarkable spark about her that is just so irresistible. Her owners ended up moving, and shockingly just left her behind. When she came into the pound she was absolutely terrified, never having experienced anything like that. Fortunately volunteers were committed to ensuring this girl knew she was loved and that everything would be okay, and then she made it to a wonderful foster home! Cocoa is 2 years old and weighs about 56 lbs. She is truly a next level remarkable being that we are so grateful to have saved. She’s gone to the vets and done wonderfully. She is current on all vaccines, deworming, preventative, heartworm tested negative, and she is spayed! She is healthy and absolutely thriving, and ready to find her forever home! Cocoa is a magnificent Chow Chow through and through. She’s a remarkable example of the breed in every way. She is unbelievably intelligent and very loyal. While she was so afraid in the pound in the beginning, once she knew she would be okay she truly blossomed and showed her playful, snuggly, happy, free spirited wonderful self. She is an “old soul” and captivates everyone wherever she goes. She is fostered with cats and is so adorable with them. She doesn’t pay much attention to them but when she does she’ll wag her tail and play bow to try to say hello to make friends! She has been around dogs her entire life and has done well with them. She’s been easy going and great with the pups in her foster home. She has excellent house manners and does great going potty outside reliably. She loves to take walks and go exploring, and she is great in the car and loves to snuggle! This little girl has a brilliant wisdom, yet somehow still can be so silly and fun. Her personality is remarkable and everyone simply adores her! It would be great for her to find a home who has chow experience but it is not required. She just needs parents who are a great combination of loving, nurturing, confident, and easy going. She’d do great having a nice yard and parents who will truly be head over heels in love with her! If she’s stolen your heart and you’d love to make her yours, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

Story
Meet Chance. He is being fostered in Athens TN east TN. Out of state welcome. Transport to the north east and Great Lakes areas available and if you’re seeing this on adopt a pet the transport fees are included in his adoption fee. We use rescue riders for our pet transport because they are the best on the road! Chance is a sweetie pie. He looks big but he is such a little thing only 30lbs fully grown. He does have a bigger head than body but it just makes him more cute. He’s great with other dogs and doesn’t know a stranger. He was a stray that likely had been either kicked really hard in his rear end or gotten hit by a car we hope it was a car and that no one would do such a thing. He is current on all vaccines and is neutered and chipped. He does great in his crate and is potty trained. He’s pretty chill and his previous injury is likely why. His vet appt went well and x rays revealed old injury that has healed and bones have fused. He cannot lift his tail straight up or even as high as his hip (but he has no problem wagging it and letting you know he adores you). He sometimes limps on his back right leg but sometimes he runs full force on it. He may develope some arthritis in his old age but til then nothing is stopping this kid from living his best life and being the amazing boy he is. Since he was a stray previously we prefer his new home have a fence. He is such a precious soul. Everyone who meets him are instantly in love with him. Apply at pet path.org

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 Still available! 8/6/24 Sundance. He and his brother Butch (who is adopted) were surrendered to a shelter when their owners divorced. They were unfortunately on the euthanasia list. How anyone can surrender their two senior dogs to a shelter is mind blowing, but we'll just be happy we were able to pull them from the shelter and find them homes!  The shelter said Sundance was about 9 years but we suspect more like 10-12 years old. He was in rough shape at the shelter and had to be shaved down because he was so matted. He is a low key boy and doesn't ask for much. He is good with other dogs as well as cats. He's about 70 pounds and we believe is a Chow mix. He has some arthritis and is on Glucosamine and Meloxicam for that. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Let's find Sundance a home with a nice, comfy orthopedic bed and all the love in the world to live out his senior days! located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.Harrisburg, PA 2am FridaysPort Jervis, NJ 5am FridaysSouthington, CT 8am FridaysEast Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Story
MEET VIOLET! Violet is a Smooth Coat Chow Chow mix who is estimated to be between 4-5 years old and weighs only 45 pounds. Violet and her lab friend were dumped together at a MS shelter. It took a week for the shelter to catch the dogs. She had split the large pad on one of her back feet. Her friend was adopted right away but not Violet and after 3 year she is still waiting for her forever home. Violet current foster decided to pull her but unfortunately this November will be 3 years she has been in foster care. Her foster reached out to us to help get her a great forever home. No dog should ever have to wait 3 plus years to find their home but unfortunately in today's world this is happening more, more often. She wants to have a home so badly. She is by herself in a 4x8 indoor kennel run just pining her life away. Violet loves, loves, loves toys and to play. She would love a home with a single person or a couple who loves the outdoors so she can run, run, run and make up for lost time. She would love to go on daily hikes or just have the ball thrown to her a few times in her new forever backyard. Violet gets along great with male dogs but is dominate with other female dogs. It is obvious Violet was beaten and abused so she will need an adopter who will be patient with her. Vilot is terrified of her foster mom's cane and when she was doing fence repair was scared to death of the 2x4 boards when her foster mom picked them up or large sticks when she is doing yard work. Violet trusts her foster mom immensely and when called she will come bouncing back to her. She has the goofiest personality and makes her foster mom laugh multiple times a day. Violet is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on all shots and ready to go. She is housebroken, crate trained. She deserves a home so bad, yet nobody wants Violet. Are you Violet's angel? If you are interested in adopting this beautiful full of energy girl please complete our adoption application. It can be found here www.fabsrescue.com/applications
