Story
We rescued 17 dachshund and chiweenies in August. They had not been socialized, their owner died in the house. We are slowly working with these babies and the ones we feel are ready, we get fixed and find them homes. These babies will need a patient family who will work with getting them comfortable in a new house. They may be flight risks so will need to be monitored all the time. Some have been adopted already and have done well. They are not used to being petted, picked up or touched. They are not used to kids so slow introductions will be needed but we don’t see them not liking kids. They are such brave little ones that we are determined they will all eventually get new homes. Ranger is the tallest of the group, not sure what gene is in there! He likes to walk his ‘perimeter’ and bark at anyone who comes near. He likes to play although they aren’t sure how to. He has the little dog energy and would be great with any family. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you though Rescue Riders.

Story
Meet Linda! She is part of the Beatles litter (Linda, Ringo, and John (Paul and George have been adopted)). She came to us from Alabama after her owner surrendered her; Linda’s mom has been spayed. Linda was born on June 11, 2024; her mom is a chiweenie and her dad is small mixed breed. Linda’s foster family is working on crate training and potty training. She is good with other dogs, cats and kids. Here is what their foster has to say about her: Linda is very good at entertaining herself and sometimes will keep to herself while her litter mates romp. She does run and play with them, but many times she gets too curious about other things in the yard, so she'll just wonder off to inspect. She has taken a big liking to our grown Labrador mix and loves hanging by her side or just following her around the yard. Linda has a sweet, spunky and curious personality. Linda will need time to adjust to her new home and their expectations. Her future family should be aware that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, requiring daily exercise, ongoing training, and socialization. A good puppy is a tired puppy. If you're considering adopting Linda, we request that you DO NOT CALL us. Instead, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our primary goal is to find the best homes for all our dogs and cats. As such, we reserve the right to approve or deny adoption applications based on determining what's in the pet's best interest. #LoveDogsForever #MixedBreed #MixedPuppy #RescuedIsTheBestBreed #Dogs #PuppiesAreACommitment #RescueDog #LoveDogs #Adopt #AdoptDontShop #Puppies

He is good with other dogs, cats and kids. Here is what his foster has to say about him: Ringo has a big personality, he's the most energetic one in the litter and he LOVES to run in the yard. He tries to get into as much puppy trouble as possible and when he's being corrected by his foster parents, he "talks" back. He has a sweet personality and is curious about anything and everything. When he's done being in the puppy pen, he takes it upon himself to just climb out and go exploring. He is a very funny guy and he's learning to chase tennis balls. He will need somebody that'll keep him exercised and entertained; otherwise he'll get into even puppy-trouble. Ringo will need time to adjust to his new home and their expectations. His future family should be aware that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, requiring daily exercise, ongoing training, and socialization. A good puppy is a tired puppy.
