Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is a little shy but warms up quickly. She is a lapdog who loves pets and cuddles. She likes treats and will toss them around and play with them before she eats them. And we just found out that she loves snow! Nina would probably do best in a home with another small, playful dog who would be her friend and give her confidence. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Pittsburgh area. And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of your family!!!! I was pulled from a local shelter thinking I'd be doing 10 to life but I was so frightened until this rescue got me pulled for scared behavior! I am a tad bit shy at first meet but with some patience and a whole lot of love, I have since blossomed into a very sweet loving gal. I bonded pretty quickly in my foster home but I'd do best in a quieter home where my person could work from home or is retired. I would also do best in a home without small kiddos but I do well with the other dogs in my foster home and love to play with them! I'm probably around 2years old and I come in at about 20lbs. I'm house trained but not so fond of the crate. I do love to be where you are whether it's beside you on the couch or snoozing in my doggie bed beside your computer while you work. I'm pretty mellow and don't need a whole lot of exercise but I do love to sniff everything in the yard and playing with the other pups is just grand!!! I've got a short coat that is super easy in the maintenance department, kind of a wash-n-go type of gal. You do know what that means, don't ya? Yep yep, more time for the spoil me rotten department!! I am sooooo ready to find me a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet or preferably on your lap, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for your home, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! Hi there! My name is Leroy and this cow print guy with me is my brother/best friend Patches. We are two year old chihuahuas. We came to Pet Search by no fault of our own. Our parents were elderly and could no longer care for us physically or financially. We love running in the fenced in yard with our foster-siblings and snuggling on the couch with everyone. Our foster mama says our puppy-kiss attacks make her day. We also don't mind the kitties in the house. We are potty trained outside as well as pad trained. We are trying to work on our leash skills since we never had those prior to coming to Pet Search. We are extremely frightened of cages/crates but are perfectly well behaved in a room closed off with a gate if you give us something comfy to lay on. We love long naps in the sun too. We are figuring out what toys are and really enjoying tugging and fetch. We are a bonded pair but if you give us a chance and a little patience we will be your best snuggle buddies for life! Hi there! Leroy and Patches checking in! We are still available and waiting for our forever family. In the meantime, our foster mom and dad have figured out a lot of stuff by getting to know us better.We are bonded brothers who came to PetSearch by no fault of our own. Our original parents no longer could care for us due their age and health. We love to run free in a fenced in yard - we are weirded out by collars, harness and leashes (foster mom has tried everything- she can wrestle a collar onto us and walk us about 5 min until we back out of our collars) so a fenced in yard would be best for us. We would love someone who's home most of the day but short times alone are just fine with us too! We love our foster brothers/sisters and kitties but crave more attention than we get here since we have to share with a lot of them! We want most of the snuggles, love, and attention. We would be best in a house with no other dogs - but We are good with other small dogs as long as they aren't confrontational. Patches wants to be the boss and protects Leroy with all his brotherly love - these two are inseparable and will snuggle and play all day with each other and with humans, but they're couch potatoes at heart. Our foster mama says our puppy-kiss attacks make her day. We are scared of cages for long periods of time but ok for a couple hours, a closed off room is perfect for us but you've gotta leave give us something comfy to lay on. We are outside and pee-pad trained with the occasional accident (chihuahuas have small bladders) we are good with children 10-up and like a calm environment as we get worried and worked up with new surroundings and noise - Due to this, Previous chihuahua experience preferred but all are welcome to apply. We do come on command and most times will stay when told to. Leroy catches treats in his mouth and will try anything for food!
