Bennie, along with 8 other pups, was rescued from being sold for meat at the side of the road in China as puppies. He is now roughly 7 months old and up to date with vaccines, neutered and ready for his forever family. Bennie is a LOVE bug! He is very playful with all the dogs and a very sweet boy. He can be adopted to anyone in the US willing to pickup at LAX or JFK.

Abby is a 2 year old Chiweenie female who is 11 lbs. Abby is the sweetest pup who loves to snuggle on the couch and play fetch for a toy. Abby loves the company of another dog and needs a fenced in yard to play. Abby uses washable wee wee pads and/or the yard to potty. Abby really only barks when she is excited about going outside- she is so happy for outdoor time. Abby loves toys and to snuggle and doesn't even mind the cold weather with a little sweater but deep down we know she's a summer girl ! Abby is spayed and has all shots for the year. Meet Boogie! Boogie is an adorable long bodied chiweenie mix that weighs 10 pounds and 3 to 4 years old. Boogie can be a little shy at first but warms up fast! His favorite game is tug of war and he also takes pleasure in cuddling with his person while they watch t.v. Boogie does okay on leash but will need a bit more work to make walks fun and exciting! Boogie does great at using the doggy door or pee pad and still needs a little confidence building with the crate. Interested in becoming a forever home for Boogie Dentwood? If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Boogie Dentwood. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Boogie Dentwood the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Story
Bailey is a 4 year old Chiweenie with a big personality and a heart full of gold. She loves to snuggle up with her people, play fetch, tug on her toys and run around. Bailey is a rescue and does come with her fair share of anxiety. She has some issues with reactivity (dogs, people in the hallway, skateboards), seperation anxiety (currently managed with gabapentin & trazadone) and some behavioral things that need correcting (nipping, jumping). I truly think that these issues can be managed with the right combination of training and medication - but also a different environemnt. I'm a healthcare worker (long hours) living in a very dog-popualted area of NYC, which is not the best environment for her to thrive. Bailey would do best with an experienced dog owner with a slower lifestyle - someone with the time and patience to help shape her into the best dog she can be. The Vince we know today has already undergone such an unbelievable evolution from the one that arrived on the farm. He had an at-times snappy aversion to touch. He trembled, hid and withdrew, the results of past trauma we wouldn't want to imagine. Thanks to patience, freedom of choice, and some encouragement from his doggie friends, Vince has allowed us to peel back the layers and show his funny inner personality. If this little guy knows one thing for sure it's that he likes to stay active. After a period of familiarization with the presence of the leash and the motion of putting on said leash, Vince has grown to become quite the walking partner. He can often be found on pack walks with his head held high as he surveys his surroundings. When he's not out on a stroll, Vince can be found zipping around the play yard with his friends...though he's not quite sure how to do this whole "play" thing just yet and will happily take a break from the action to explore his environment on his own. Vince also loves his toys; it brings such joy to watch him toss them about with a jolly demeanor that can't help but make you giggle. Vince still has a great deal of learning to do in how to be a pet dog. The structure we have provided, paired with a gentle approach, has allowed him to understand where he fits in the daily routine. Though he has become quite bold in his now comfortable surroundings, we know it will take a great deal of patience to welcome Vince into an unfamiliar environment. A home that is dedicated to continuing his growth (a process that is both highly challenging and highly rewarding) would be what's needed for this delightfully playful yet still highly uncertain little guy to blossom into his fullest potential. ___ THANK YOU for your interest in a rescue dog! Story
Gandy is a solid delightful spunky little chi mix that was originally surrendered to a southern shelter along with 5 other chihuahuas. We took them all and each one was placed in great homes! Sadly after 2 years Gandy was returned to us at Love Dogs due to personal circumstances in his previous owners life. When he first arrived back to us last week after two years in his home, he was one chunky monkey!! We welcomed him back.. he was always much loved here and he did recognize us.. naturally he had to readjust and was initially a bit reserved and cautious ( part of his nature!). He will never be a confident greeter of new people.. but he is able to and actually wants to feel safe and loved. It didn't take long for him to get into our routine and start trusting us again. Right now Gandy's days are filled with positive experiences only! Playgroups with his buddies Hopper, Navy and Ollie.. long walks around the farm property and tours into the barn to explore all the wondrous horse smells! Gandy is so affectionate and loving to those on his inner circle.. often jumping in our laps and rubbing on us like a cat for attention! He has his favorite friends and with them he gives his whole heart!! Gandy would do well in a home with a another dog or cat but children not so much! He prefers calm and gentle friends who will find it easy to give him space time and choices!! With his somewhat challenging start in life our hopeful buddy deserves a sweet happily ever after!
