Story

Bailey is a 4 year old Chiweenie with a big personality and a heart full of gold. She loves to snuggle up with her people, play fetch, tug on her toys and run around. Bailey is a rescue and does come with her fair share of anxiety. She has some issues with reactivity (dogs, people in the hallway, skateboards), seperation anxiety (currently managed with gabapentin & trazadone) and some behavioral things that need correcting (nipping, jumping). I truly think that these issues can be managed with the right combination of training and medication - but also a different environemnt. I'm a healthcare worker (long hours) living in a very dog-popualted area of NYC, which is not the best environment for her to thrive. Bailey would do best with an experienced dog owner with a slower lifestyle - someone with the time and patience to help shape her into the best dog she can be. Meet Boogie! Boogie is an adorable long bodied chiweenie mix that weighs 10 pounds and 3 to 4 years old. Boogie can be a little shy at first but warms up fast! His favorite game is tug of war and he also takes pleasure in cuddling with his person while they watch t.v. Boogie does okay on leash but will need a bit more work to make walks fun and exciting! We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Boogie Dentwood the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Abby loves the company of another dog and needs a fenced in yard to play. Abby uses washable wee wee pads and/or the yard to potty. Abby really only barks when she is excited about going outside- she is so happy for outdoor time. Abby loves toys and to snuggle and doesn't even mind the cold weather with a little sweater but deep down we know she's a summer girl ! Abby is spayed and has all shots for the year. Bennie, along with 8 other pups, was rescued from being sold for meat at the side of the road in China as puppies. He is now roughly 7 months old and up to date with vaccines, neutered and ready for his forever family. Bennie is a LOVE bug! He is very playful with all the dogs and a very sweet boy. Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is shy and depends on her more confident sister. But they are not bonded. Pinta has heartworms and cannot be transported until they are gone. So Nina will need a home with another small sweet dog to be her friend and give her confidence. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company. Scheduled stops include, but are not limited to, Ridgefield NJ, Rye NY, or Nanuet NY.
