Story
Meet Tala!Sweet little Tala came to PCHS from a valued rescue partner in Texas. At just under 4 years old, Tala has had a lot of change in her life and this is due to no fault of her own. Her original owners had her since a pup and she did great with the younger kids. Her family then went through a divorce and had to rehome Tala. In her new home, Tala did great with the people and loved the other dogs. Unfortunately, one of the larger dogs did not love Tala. For her safety she was then surrendered to the Texas rescue. Tala can be a little timid at first, but that is understandable since she has had so much change happen in such a short amount of time. She would do well in a home that can give her some patience as she settles in and learns the new routine. Tala has loved with dogs and kids and done well with all of that. Given her disposition, she would likely do okay with cats as well.If this sweet chihuahua mix seems like a good fit for your family, apply online today!Adoption fee is $400 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Shorty got his name from his short little stubby legs, and he’s every bit as adorable as you’d imagine. This sweet little Chihuahua spent his life as a breeder dog, so living in a home is still new to him—but he’s doing really well and making steady progress every day. Shorty gets along wonderfully with other dogs and truly needs another dog in the home to help him feel safe and confident. He knows how to use a doggy door to go outside to potty, though he may still have an occasional accident or choose to use a potty pad. Shorty recently had his eye removed due to a non-healing ulcer and also had a dental with several extractions. He has recovered well and is now ready to start his next chapter. Because he is still healing, we have not tried leash walking yet. He is kennel trained, very quiet, and not a barker. Shorty will allow you to pick him up if you gently corner him and say “stop” or “wait,” and he will sit with you for short periods, though he doesn’t yet come to you asking to be picked up. With patience, kindness, and routine, he continues to grow more comfortable each day. Shorty would do best in a calm, quiet home with another dog and a secure fenced yard. His journey is just beginning, and he’s looking for a loving home to continue helping him feel safe and loved. Adoption fee is $350 plus tax. Apply to adopt at CampCompanion.org 🐾

Story
Meet Vivi! Vivi was found as a stray and ended up in animal control before coming to rescue. She is estimated to be around 10 years old, but she definitely didn’t get the memo—Vivi has plenty of energy and a tail that seems to wag nonstop. She’s a happy, curious girl who loves to be part of the action. If something moves, Vivi wants to check it out! She enjoys playing and still has a fun, youthful spirit. Vivi is a smart girl who knows “sit” and understands “no.” She appears eager to please and is learning that calm behavior earns attention and pets. She’s quiet in her kennel, keeps it clean, and has not been destructive in her foster home. After a couple of initial accidents (normal when adjusting to a new home), she’s doing well going potty outside. Vivi has met the resident dog in her foster home and did fine, but she can be a little enthusiastic and barky and is still learning doggy boundaries. Because of this, she will need slow introductions with other dogs. Vivi can also be a little sneaky around doors, so adopters will need to be careful when coming and going. She should not be off leash unless in a securely fenced area, as she does enjoy running. She is not a fan of small squeaky fast-moving kids but older kids are ok. If you think Vivi might be the right fit for your home, please apply at www.campcompanion.org . Her adoption fee is $350 plus tax.
