I was pulled from a local shelter thinking I'd be doing 10 to life but I was so frightened until this rescue got me pulled for scared behavior! I am a tad bit shy at first meet but with some patience and a whole lot of love, I have since blossomed into a very sweet loving gal. I bonded pretty quickly in my foster home but I'd do best in a quieter home where my person could work from home or is retired. I would also do best in a home without small kiddos but I do well with the other dogs in my foster home and love to play with them! I'm probably around 2years old and I come in at about 20lbs. I'm house trained but not so fond of the crate. I do love to be where you are whether it's beside you on the couch or snoozing in my doggie bed beside your computer while you work. I'm pretty mellow and don't need a whole lot of exercise but I do love to sniff everything in the yard and playing with the other pups is just grand!!! I've got a short coat that is super easy in the maintenance department, kind of a wash-n-go type of gal. You do know what that means, don't ya? Yep yep, more time for the spoil me rotten department!! Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I’m Dirk!  I’m a handsome scruffy guy who is looking for a family of my very own.  I came here from a shelter in Arkansas where I found myself when my owner passed away.  I wasn’t there too long before I came to MN where I found myself in a foster home.  It took me a bit to open up to my new foster.  I was sad and confused since I had lost my home and owner.  I was lucky though that I got to come here with my sister, Mateo.  I don’t need to be adopted with her, but if you have room in your heart I’d certainly love to be adopted with her.  When we meet I’m shy with new people and need a bit to warm up.  Once I trust you though then I’m a happy guy who loves neck scratches!  I lean into them and rub against your hand like a cat with the biggest smile while I dance in excitement.  I don’t care much about toys.  I do like to run with my doggie friends outside, but I don’t like when they get to wild.  That’s when I bark at them and tell them they need to chill out.  When I’m not out with my friends I can be found chilling out at my mom’s feet or sitting in her lap getting all the good pets.  I think I’d prefer a home that’s a bit more quiet with no little kids.  I just don’t enjoy being overwhelmed by their antics.  I’d love a fenced yard where I can sit and sunbathe, but if you don’t have one that’s ok too.  I am crate, leash, and potty trained, too (on a schedule at my foster home that is!). I’m not very into food and treats, but maybe my foster mama just hasn’t found the right ones yet.  I should also probably tell you that my back legs are pretty bowlegged.  The nice doctor said I was just born that way and that since they don’t bother me or give me any pain that they are ok.  Mama says I’m perfect and I couldn’t agree more!
