Ever want to bring that adorable Opossum outside, inside to be your friend to the end? Look no further than our buddy Possum! He is a 9 year old Chiweenie (that's Dachshund Chihuahua mix). This little guy is the epitome of the word agreeable. He is content in every and every possible situation. People - he adores attention and affection, so happy to be held and cuddled, but LOVES to go on adventures and walks (NOT on cold days though please!). Dogs - he is calm and friendly with other small pups; larger dogs are intimidating for him, but we don't blame his tiny size!. Cats - no problem! He's very respectful of their boundaries. Kids - of course! Tested and approved, as long as they are small dog savvy. This little guy has a genetic hair loss condition that is stable and not an issue - he just is mostly hairless and all he will need is a wardrobe to keep him warm and some pup friendly sunscreen in the summer - low maintenance guy! Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is shy and depends on her more confident sister. But they are not bonded. Pinta has heartworms and cannot be transported until they are gone. So Nina will need a home with another small sweet dog to be her friend and give her confidence. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Brattleboro or White River Junction VT. Anndalina 11 YEARS OLD. Chi mix. black with white, no kids, no cats, okay with some dogs, basics of potty training. Needs fenced in yard and no apartments. Anndalina came to us as an emergency surrender. This poor girl was trying to chew her tail off and needed emergency treatment. We rushed her into our vet and it was determined her tail would need to be amputated to prevent any infection from spreading. We whisked her into surgery and brought her back to one of our foster homes. Anndalina has had a rough beginning to her life and she will need a patient and understanding home to help her become the dog we know she can be. We would recommend she go to a child free home and a home where her Chihuahua bark will not be a problem. A nice quiet couple or single person would be the ideal place for her as she can become overwhelmed with too many visitors. Once she bonds to her people she is very affectionate but it will take a while for this nervous girl to settle into any new home and she will need to be given time to calm and adjust.Please note we do not have a central kennel facility, all of our pets are located in foster homes. The first step in meeting one of our furry friends is to fill out an application on our website at <a href='www.rainbowrescues.org'>www.rainbowrescues.org</a>.
