We rescued 17 dachshund and chiweenies in August. They had not been socialized, their owner died in the house. We are slowly working with these babies and the ones we feel are ready, we get fixed and find them homes. These babies will need a patient family who will work with getting them comfortable in a new house. They may be flight risks so will need to be monitored all the time. Some have been adopted already and have done well. They are not used to being petted, picked up or touched.They are not used to kids so slow introductions will be needed but we don’t see them not liking kids. They are such brave little ones that we are determined they will all eventually get new homes. Ranger is the tallest of the group, not sure what gene is in there! He likes to walk his ‘perimeter’ and bark at anyone who comes near. He likes to play although they aren’t sure how to. He has the little dog energy and would be great with any family. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you though Rescue Riders.

Marty is a sweet handsome little Chihuahua. He gets along with everyone and enjoys playing. He also gets along great with cats. He would be a perfect fit for some one that wants a Velcro dog who loves to sleep with you and loves to be petted. He loves his people. He is doing well with housetraining but he also wears a belly wrap. He’s not very fond of being picked up. He hardly ever barks unless someone comes to the door. He is fully vetted and has been tested for heartworm negative so he is ready for his new forever family. Funny story, I ended up here because I have a knack for doors. I thought I was auditioning for a canine version of 'The Great Escape'. I made a run for the door, but instead of freedom, I found myself here. It's not all bad, though. I've made some pals and honed my door-dashing skills. But, I'm ready for a forever home.
