Story
This sweet little man is Buddy! When his family lost their home on 11/30, he was surrendered to the shelter. They were hoping to be able to return for him, but sadly that has not happened. Buddy is now hoping for a new, forever home where he can live out his golden years. He'd love a comfy bed, yummy treats, and lots of love! Buddy seems to be house-trained because he keeps his kennel tidy, and cries when he needs to go out and potty. He does have a large mass on his side that will need to be evaluated by a veterinarian. The volunteers just adore Buddy and describe him as a real love bug! He also sits nicely for treats when asked. If you're looking for a chill BFF who is happy to take short walks and spend his days by your side, Buddy is your guy! Buddy is approximately 12 years old, and he weighs 18 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be microchipped and heartworm tested upon adoption. Due to his age, he will need to be evaluated by the shelter veterinarian and they will determine whether or not to neuter him. Buddy is waiting patiently in kennel 204; his ID # is 6580. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
I got beanie at 4 weeks old from someone off Craigslist. He did receive his first set of shots from the people I bought him from. And I took him to the shelter near me to get another round of shots. But currently he is not up to date on shots. Reason for rehoming is my other dog is a bit older. She gets along and plays with him. But she will get annoyed after a while and start to get a bit aggressive with him when he wont stop. He is very active and barks often. But he is also so loving and like to be pet and cuddled. He is not fully trained to potty outside. But he does know how to use the pads. He was born in May so he is not yet a year. Kid friendly and dog friendly. Just want to find him a good home and someone who will have more time for him. He has always been with another dog. So I do prefer someone who already has a dog for him to play with. Or can take him to a dog park to interact with other dogs. Good with baths. Any questions or interest please message me.

Story
Binky is ready to find her forever family! She is 12 weeks old and only weighs around 5-6lbs. We believe she'll be under 20lbs full grown. She's being fostered in a home with other dogs, big and small, as well as a couple of teenagers and is doing great! While she's started on potty training, it’s still a work in progress. So someone who will have patience and time to continue training is a must. She loves to cuddle and play! She hasn't been around cats but their foster Mom expects that she will want to snuggle and play. Requirements - Someone who is home often or has a schedule that will allow for frequent potty breaks - A fenced in yard is a requirement at least for now as she has not been on a leash but loves chasing the other dogs in the fenced in yard - No small children Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! While we make our best guesses, we often don’t know what breeds our kiddos are made of. We cannot guarantee our guesses will always be right but CAN guarantee they are 100% good dogs! Our adoption fee is $350. **We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)** If you are interested in any of our dogs, please visit https://releashatlanta.com/adoptable-dogs.php to either view more of their profile or to apply to adopt! She's being fostered in a home with other dogs and elementary school aged kids and are doing great! Story
A SHY BUT FRIENDLY FELLOW:  Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 14 lbs.  Hi, I’m Anton!  I came to Mostly Mutts from a home that had a lot of dogs! We needed help when our dad had to go into Hospice care, so Mostly Mutts was able to take me, and quite a few more into their program. Now I’m ready to find a new home and family of my very own!  I needed a good dental cleaning which I have received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I came in with other dogs that I’m a little bossy with. If you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may fall on me.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My previous owner described me as a shy but sweet fellow.  The volunteers knew to just go slowly with me and sure enough, I warmed up pretty quickly.  I got the reputation of being the ‘boss of the doxies’ around the shelter.  I have a confidence about me and an energetic spirit you are sure to love.  You are also sure to love my sweet, gentle demeanor, which I displayed during my shelter bath – being a real trooper during a pretty thorough ear cleaning.  I’m also quite crafty and reportedly can scale a fence, making me a potential escape artist, so please don’t leave me in the yard unattended until you know that I will not leave.  I’ve gotten into some things that don’t belong to me in my foster home, even showing that I know how to open doors.  I need to be watched closely and not left unattended in the home until I understand what is expected of me.  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Check back soon to see what I've learned. / The crate is new to me, so I am working on that now - I get a bit anxious in there and have been having accidents while I’m in my crate.  My foster family is trying to make it a more comfortable/positive experience for me. At bedtime, I get to sleep with my fosters, and I love that!  I hope my new family will let me do this with them. /  I have good potty manners in my foster home while I am outside of my crate, however I potty in my crate.  My foster is working on this with me and is teaching me that my crate isn’t scary.  I also don’t like to potty outside when the grass is wet, so please be patient with me in this scenario.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  As I warm up to you, I love to collect belly rubs.  I’m happiest with you - lying by your side on the couch or in bed!  Fuzzy blankets are the best, and I love to burrow into them for a nap.  I’ve not really shown interest in toys yet, but perhaps you can show me how much fun they can be. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I am currently taking an inexpensive anxiety medication to help me with the anxiety I experience when in my crate.  I also had a fatty mass removed and I’m healing up nicely from that now, and a good dental cleaning.  Since I'm a Dachshund, I naturally have a long back which is subject to injury, so please don't allow me to jump on and off furniture so we can keep me safe and healthy. I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 21, 2024, 6:31 am

Story
SWEET, SHY & NEEDS PATIENCE:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 13 lbs. Hi, I’m Elsa!  I came to Mostly Mutts from a home that had a lot of dogs that weren’t properly socialized.  We needed help when our dad had to go into hospice care, so Mostly Mutts was able to take me, and quite a few other dogs into their program. Now I’m ready to find a new home and family of my own that understands my situation and will give me lots of time to settle into my new home.  I was adopted for 2 days but returned when I bit my mom over being picked up quickly when I just wasn’t ready for that, and I was so afraid. So, I need a family that will be patient with me and will give me lots of time to feel safe and secure in my new home.  I needed a good dental cleaning which I received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I came in with other dogs that I liked, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids at Mostly Mutts, but due to my fearful nature, and bite risk, Mostly Mutts recommends calm teenagers only, so if you have kids like this, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am very scared but also very sweet once you give me time to get comfortable with you.  Please don’t rush me, as I just wasn’t socialized properly in my previous home, so I need time to feel safe and comfortable with people.  Once comfortable, I seek out attention and am a friendly girl who is getting used to being loved.  I’m not used to being picked up, held and loved – but I am getting there with patience and not being rushed!  I’ve spent a good part of my life being a momma dog.  Now, I am looking forward to that being behind me and just being a loved family member! / My energy level is currently 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Check back soon to see what I've learned. / I am new to the crate. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Once I know and trust you, I enjoy neck and head rubs, and – though I am not interested in toys, I bet you can show me how much fun they can be. / I don’t want to be rushed into a relationship as I need extra time.  I would not be happy in a home with a lot of commotion or too many people coming and going as I need a nice quiet home.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training once I feel at home. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  You’ll notice that my right pupil doesn’t contract properly.  It’s a congenital condition and I can see out of the eye with a little vision loss in that eye.  Since I'm a Dachshund, I naturally have a long back which is subject to injury, so please don't allow me to jump on and off furniture so we can keep me safe and healthy. I’m getting medicated baths twice a week for a little while to help with my skin and these can be done in my new home with patience.  (I’ve done well with these at MM with the bather who is kind and gentle with me and gives me time to get used to her.) I’ve started an anxiety medication to help me with the stress I’m feeling.   I am looking for a wonderful patient family to give me a living furever home!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 18, 2024, 7:48 am
