Story
Little pup, Big spirit!
Meet Denim! Denim is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Denim, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery on or about November 19, 2024.
Denim is a young female, mixed breed puppy with a soft coat in shades of fawn and tan with a darker muzzle and warm, soulful chocolate eyes. One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Denim journeyed from an animal shelter in Del Rio, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. She’s already a seasoned traveler, having flown here courtesy of Dog is My Co-Pilot.
Independent, curious and playful, Denim likes to explore new things and chew on everything. She finds the world so interesting! Denim likes to romp with the other dogs in the home and has done well with the resident cats. Though she is a small, gentle pup, Denim thinks she is a big girl and prefers not to be held like a baby. She has too much investigating to do for that. Denim isn’t too fond of the colder weather she has encountered here (snow will be a big surprise for her). Denim loves her treats, and food is definitely the way to her heart.
Born in mid-August, Denim is learning new skills quickly. She is progressing through her potty training and sleeps through the night. She spends several hours at a time in her crate quietly, and she will begin leash and obedience training soon (which we predict will be a new favorite activity for her when she figures out there are treats involved).
Denim’s ideal home? Denim seeks a home where she can love and be loved in return, where she will be treated as the large dog she imagines she is and not the purse pup she might be in reality. Other dogs, cats and kids would be lovely. If this sounds like your house, Denim might be the one for you!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue
Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.
Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.
Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
About Path of Hope Rescue
At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.
We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.
Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.
