PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - WINDSOR BREED - Chinese Crested mix SIZE - About 10 pounds AGE - 9-12 months GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Windsor is a wonderful little dog seeking the companionship of a wonderful adopter! Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet. This happy fellow is very inquisitive, loves sniffing and exploring and makes a great walking companion! Windsor came to us from a shelter in central NC where he had been found as a stray. Given his love for people, we believe he had been someone's beloved pet. He loves people and is kind to other small dogs. The shelter thought Windsor might be a Papillon mix, but we have a sneaking suspicion he may be Chinese Crested mix given both the coat and build of his body. Fully grown at just 10 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Windsor will be neutered on November 26. Until his surgery has been completed, he is only eligible for adoption in the Richmond, VA area. He is in good health, fully vaccinated and has tested negative for heart worms. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time acclimating Windsor to his new life. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard is in his best interest. He will make a wonderful companion for a active person who enjoys both outdoor time and supreme cuddling! Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Windsor and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Windsor at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. Meet Parker!  This precious little guy is 4 years old and about 12 lbs.  Evidently Parker did not have a very good life prior to joining Critter Cavalry.  We think he was bullied by another dog.  He is a 'sit on the sidelines and watch' kinda guy who doesn't really want to play with anyone.  He doesn't mind the other dogs and definitely is not mean.  He would just rather be with people.  Parker is super sweet and loves people.  He just wants to be where his foster mom is.  Parker would be a wonderful companion for someone that just wants one dog and who would like a dog they can take places.  He would love that and would love to be friends with all your friends.  He is just precious and very friendly.  He gentlY smells you to make sure you are OK and then he is good.  He was smiling during his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention.  If you are looking for a loyal companion then you have found him in Parker.  Parker is doggie door trained, neutered, current on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for Parker's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Parker is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Timmy is a 5 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix who weighs 14 lbs.  He and his buddy Ebony were surrendered to a rural middle Tennessee shelter in July.  He didn't understand why this happened to them and was really scared at first.  He took him a little while to settle in and he has now blossomed into a wonderful, happy and friendly little guy.  Timmy gets along well with other dogs both his size and larger.  He loves to hang out in his foster mom's fenced in yard and has a good time playing with his foster brothers and sisters.  They also have a large fenced in field where everyone goes for daily exercise.  Timmy just loves it.  He would do best in a home with another dog who will be his buddy.  He would not do well as an only dog.  Timmy also loves people.  He likes being with his foster mom and is always up for a movie or ballgame.  He would love to snuggle with you at night as well.  Timmy would make a great addition to the right home.  He is a sweet little guy.  Timmy is housebroken, doggie door trained and he can walk on a leash.  He has been neutered and is current on all his shots, heartworm negative, on monthly preventative and microchipped.  To be considered for Timmy's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Timmy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Oliver is one of the most handsome Chihuahuas we have ever presented for adoption and it just the young age of 2 years and 10 lb, we know he will be adopted soon. His sweet personality just endears everyone to him when they meet him.   This boy in a few of the pictures you can see is just so confused about why his photos are being made. He was displaced from his home because the owner had way too many dogs and she had to choose him since he was one of the youngest and ask for us to rehome him. Some of her older dogs would not be adopted so she sacrifices very dear soul to go into rescue and be neutered and all of the vetting done that he deserved. She could not financially do it. Oliver is housebroken pretty much and we'll just need a little bit of time in a forever home to get the schedule right. He is great with other dogs big and small and cats. He wants to sleep with you in bed and he wants to have reassurance that he will never be moved again.  Our precious Oliver needs and adoption miracle. We're looking for a family that can give him a future for the next 15 years. Walks out in the world for exercise and adventures at outdoor festivals for family reunions or vacations at the beach where they allow dogs. This sweet boy will be a showstopper for someone. People will comment on what a beautiful and sweet boy because they are doing that now with the foster mom.
