Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#128&#139Tayo is a gentle and shy pup with a heart full of potential. While he’s still learning to feel safe and confident in the world, he’s made great progress with his foster mom and loves seeking her out for comfort and companionship. He’s more cautious around men and needs a little more time to warm up to them—he's okay at arm’s length with his foster dad and prefers to keep a bit more distance from kids. When guests come over,&#226&#128&#139T&#226&#128&#139ayo likes to retreat to his safe spot under the bed, but with the right family, he’ll continue to blossom. This special boy will thrive in a quiet, patient home where his people understand that love and trust take time. His ideal family will be willing to give him the space he needs to grow at his own pace. In return, they’ll get the sweetest, most loyal companion. &#226&#128&#139Tayo does need to go to an adoptive home with another dog present to help show him the ropes.  If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who just needs a little extra time to shine, Tayo would love to meet you! Tayo is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Susanna! This 5-year-old Xoloitzcuintli/Cairn Terrier mix is a sweet and shy girl looking for a loving home. Susanna is leash trained, enjoys car rides, and loves playing with her toys. She's even-tempered but a bit timid, so she'll need a patient and gentle hand or a confident companion dog to help her feel secure. Given her mostly hairless coat, she'll need some cozy sweaters to stay warm, especially in chilly Minnesota. One of her favorite things? Breakfast! If you're looking for a cute, calm companion who will thrive with a bit of TLC, Susanna might just be the perfect addition to your home. Susanna  is from Texas.  One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program.   Click here   to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.     Click here   to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes.   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application.   An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Meet Pancho, a super sweet 10-week-old puppy found at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter with his brother.  Pancho’s friendly nature makes him an ideal companion for everyone—children, adults, seniors, big dogs, small dogs, and even cats.  He isn't overly vocal and loves to play and snuggle. Pancho has a high energy level and adores his toys, making playtime his favorite part of the day.  As evening rolls in, Pancho prepares for bed, though he prefers the warmth and comfort of sleeping with his human rather than alone. He's looking for a home with someone who has patience and an understanding of puppy training. His friendly disposition means he gets along with everyone and will quickly become a beloved member of any family. If you’re ready to welcome a playful, loving, and snuggly pup into your home, Pancho is eager to meet you and start a life full of fun and affection!
