Story
Cookie is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 10-12 lbs. She is a rescue from Korea and is being fostered in Haymarket, VA. Cookie has not had many interactions with people during her long shelter years in Korea, therefore she is a bit skittish. However, in the right environment, she can blossom. Please know that even though she can be playful at times, she tends to hide in the house. We would not want a home with small kids. She loves going for walks so we would really like someone who can do multiple walks during the day. (Long and short) Fenced in yard is a must for her. We think she would be best as an only dog to receive all attention or another dog with gentle, calm demeanor. She is a sweetheart with skittish temperament, and we would love to find the right home for her. All our adoptions come with 2-week trial. If interested, please submit an application for us to review. Www.nmser.org

Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Blossom was born August 29th, 2023, she is outgoing, curious, cuddly, and mostly house broken. Very happy and healthy. She has not been vaccinated or spayed and has never been around small children but would probably be fine with older kids. I currently have too many dogs to care for in the best possible way, I have several other dogs that need to be rehomed, I have recently been forced to retire and have a limited income. I will only adopt to someone willing to provide the best food and care for her. I feed my dogs gently cooked or raw food and only give them human grade ingredient dry dog food "the honest kitchen". I would rather keep her then let her go to someone not of a like mind about their fur babies. I am sorry if that seems unrealistic. thank you for your time.

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Breena would do best with a patient female adopter. She was born on October 24. 2022. She is fearful of strangers, especially men. Will snuggle with her person once she gets used to you and can be very loving to her person. Not recommended for family with young children. She had her 1st vaccines but is due for boosters. She will use pee pads but has never been around carpet so may confuse it for pee pads. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Story
ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Mike! Mike is about 13 weeks old and weighs approximately 8 lbs. Please see his brothers DNA testing in the picture section. Mike is a sweet and playful puppy who spends his days chasing and wrestling with his brother Sully and the resident dogs in the foster home. Mike loves to cuddle whenever there is a lap available. Mike really loves being with other dogs and is a "dog's dog" kind of guy. He would really be happiest if his forever home had another dog to accept him as a buddy. Mike is working on his house and crate training and doing well. Young puppies require an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to work on training and socialization. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be neutered at the age of 6 months. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check.
