She is full of life and energy and has eyes that will stare deep into your soul. She is doing great learning her manners and basic training skills in her foster home. Kaycee is really quick to learn and is super treat motivated! Kaycee will need a chihuahua savvy owner and someone willing to stick to a routine and continue with her basic training. She will warm up to her new people quickly but strangers take her a minute or two. She is working on her confidence building and will need to be given some patience, support and guidance. She has been around other bigger dogs and a cat in her foster home and gets along well with all. She really wants to play with everyone so a playful cat or dog would be great for her. If there is another dog in the home they will need to be her same size or bigger than she is, as well as confident. Kaycee loves to go for walks and on any adventure and does great! Loud noises make her nervous, but she recovers quickly and is back to exploring the world. She would love a fenced yard as she needs frequent potty breaks, but it is not mandatory. In her future home, she will need to be fed in a crate, away from other pets as other dogs make her nervous around food. Florida thunder storms make her a little nervous but as long as she has a lap to sit in and ride out the storm she is fine. She is not destructive or overly anxious. Kaycee wants to be apart of anything you do especially if it involves a care ride. She must continue her basic training and confidence building. Kaycee is is doing great with potty training. She will consistently go potty outside with frequent potty breaks and will go on a pad or grass pad in the house in an emergency. She is crated when her foster parents leave during the day and at night and doesn't have accidents in her crate. Kaycee is a great little pup and will be a great companion for anyone who is willing to stick to her training and work through her confidence building. This boy is a gem! He's absolutely perfect. Enrique is a 7 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua (mix?). He’s tiny but mighty, and a lil bit stocky. This super sweet social butterfly boy is an easy keeper and steals the heart of everyone he meets Enrique gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and has never met a stranger. He is playful and affectionate with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion but people are his PASSION! We have not seen him around children so perhaps older children would be best with his tiny size. His favorite place is in your lap or snuggled up in your neck. Enrique is fully vetted, even bloodwork and a dental with 15 teeth removed, ouch. Enrique is great in the car and on a leash. He is truly a dog that you can easily take anywhere and even housetrained. He does need help getting into the bed so will bark to let you know he wants up. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and heartworm negative. I’m a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. I have spina bifida, which means I can’t be potty trained, but that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping joyfully. I’ve also had surgery for a luxating patella and have recovered beautifully, completing all my physical therapy like a champ. Rodney is a very curious, mischievous little guy who gets into everything, just like a little puppy. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying. But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle. Can you believe that underbite he has? I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him. It might make him look tough but Rodney is a 'softie' through and through. He is just an adorable, sweet pup and he deserves a much better home than the hoarding conditions that he came from. Silver Sam is 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Part of a big hoarding case, he was taken to the shelter and there he sat for a few months. Critter Cavalry Rescue could not stand the thought that he was in that out of the way shelter where no one comes to adopt a dog. We pulled 7 dogs from that hoarding case and some had been there for 6 months. Sam is a hoot as they say. He is funny and active and must be watched if in a chain link fenced yard. He might find an escape route and take off just for the fun of it. He doesn’t go far but he sure does love the chase. He is good with other dogs and he is full of antics with the cats. He is almost housebroken and he is just the most loving lap dog ever. Such a great smile and attitude despite some terrible conditions in his previous life. He is with someone that loves the Chihuahua breed and understands all the little quirks. He really has not bad habits except the fun of occasionally making a run for it just to see you panic. Meet Parker! This precious little guy is 4 years old and about 12 lbs. Evidently Parker did not have a very good life prior to joining Critter Cavalry. We think he was bullied by another dog. He is a 'sit on the sidelines and watch' kinda guy who doesn't really want to play with anyone. He doesn't mind the other dogs and definitely is not mean. He would just rather be with people. Parker is super sweet and loves people. He just wants to be where his foster mom is. Parker would be a wonderful companion for someone that just wants one dog and who would like a dog they can take places. He would love that and would love to be friends with all your friends. He is just precious and very friendly. He gentlY smells you to make sure you are OK and then he is good. He was smiling during his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention. Timmy is a 5 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix who weighs 14 lbs. He and his buddy Ebony were surrendered to a rural middle Tennessee shelter in July. He didn't understand why this happened to them and was really scared at first. He took him a little while to settle in and he has now blossomed into a wonderful, happy and friendly little guy. Timmy gets along well with other dogs both his size and larger. He loves to hang out in his foster mom's fenced in yard and has a good time playing with his foster brothers and sisters. They also have a large fenced in field where everyone goes for daily exercise. Timmy just loves it. He would do best in a home with another dog who will be his buddy. He would not do well as an only dog. Timmy also loves people. He likes being with his foster mom and is always up for a movie or ballgame. He would love to snuggle with you at night as well. Timmy would make a great addition to the right home. He is a sweet little guy. Timmy is housebroken, doggie door trained and he can walk on a leash. Oliver is one of the most handsome Chihuahuas we have ever presented for adoption and it just the young age of 2 years and 10 lb, we know he will be adopted soon. His sweet personality just endears everyone to him when they meet him. This boy in a few of the pictures you can see is just so confused about why his photos are being made. He was displaced from his home because the owner had way too many dogs and she had to choose him since he was one of the youngest and ask for us to rehome him. Some of her older dogs would not be adopted so she sacrifices very dear soul to go into rescue and be neutered and all of the vetting done that he deserved. She could not financially do it. Oliver is housebroken pretty much and we'll just need a little bit of time in a forever home to get the schedule right. He is great with other dogs big and small and cats. He wants to sleep with you in bed and he wants to have reassurance that he will never be moved again. Our precious Oliver needs and adoption miracle. We're looking for a family that can give him a future for the next 15 years. Walks out in the world for exercise and adventures at outdoor festivals for family reunions or vacations at the beach where they allow dogs. This sweet boy will be a showstopper for someone. People will comment on what a beautiful and sweet boy because they are doing that now with the foster mom.
