Story
Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for critter.Cavalry turquoise noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public.  This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly.  She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us.  She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath.  Anna has lots of love to give and deserves  a family to spoil her.   Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 18, 2025, 12:12 pm

Story
Prince was rescued from the streets of Ft. Worth, TX and transported to Nashville, TN  about 5 years ago. This handsome boy is 6 years old now and is a darling white Chihuahua weighing 14.5 pounds. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle and loves to burrow under a blanket at the end of the bed and sleep. He enjoys being petted, but doesn't like being picked up suddenly.  He loves to go for walks on a leash and like most Chihuahuas he loves car rides and going for adventures.  This boy, certain has certainly has his list of blue quirky, things that need to be respected and observed and left alone with.  He guards his toys and food so we don't take them away from him.  His favorite toys are toys that squeak and he is gentle with them.  Prince will do really well in a mature home of empty nesters or senior persons that are retired.  A home with young children would not be the best place for him. Young children stress him out. Prince needs someone .that understands he's a sassy Chihuahua and is willing to respect his boundaries. Someone with Chihuahua experience would be amazing!  Princess fine with other dogs and cats and a quiet home life.   He is housebroken and doesn't destroy things when home alone. Prince does have the wonderful sides to him. And the sides that need to be respected and observed. As with most small breed, dogs who can be particular.  If you would like to give this young chihuahua, a beautiful home and life where he can devote all his love and attention to you. Then please write to critter cavalry, rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  asap!! Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - HOLT Looking for a new furry friend? Look no further than Holt! This young, male pup is friendly, affectionate, gentle and quiet, and is looking for a forever home where he can be the center of attention. Despite his youth, Holt is a very wise and calm dog and will be a great companion for an animal lover who is looking for a lovely pet. Holt came to us from a NC shelter after his owner passed away. He lived with several other small dogs, and has been kind to the others in rescue. He's in good health - already neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He tested negative for heart worms and has lovely teeth befitting a dog 1-2 years of age. If you're ready to open your heart and your home to this sweetheart, please get in touch. He's waiting to meet you! Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LULU Breed: longhair chihuahuha Age: 9 years Weight: 12 pounds Adoption Fee: $325   Vetting Status: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed,  heartworm negative and maintained on preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LULU is an energetic 9-year-old chihuahua mix who loves lounging with her people, when not busy securing her territory from  intruders like those evil squirrels or dumb birds. If you’re looking for a dog that will be your constant companion, Lulu is the dog for you. She loves spending time with you, either at your feet or on your lap. She tolerates other dogs & even the occasional cat, but would rather be your only dog.   Lap time & cuddles are a must.  Large dogs or small humans are bleh & to be barked at until they go away.   She is housetrained & OK on a leash, so an apartment would be acceptable to Lulu.... though she may make you carry her up any stairs (doesn't every princess?). If you think LULU is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today!   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LULU  is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Meet Chico! Chico is a 6-7 year old little guy who was surrendered to us when his owner could no longer care for him. Chico is a reserved fellow until he decides that he trusts you. He is fairly independent. He wouldn't do well with young children. He is happy sleeping in his favorite bed just knowing you are around. Chico does well with other dogs and cats. Chico does not care for leash walking but can be trained. He tolerates car rides OK. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every five hours or so. Chico prefers soft food. He enjoys Pepperoni treats! Chico had a bad habit in his previous home of barking and running after people who are leaving. He has not done this in his foster home. Chico is not crate trained as he behaves well in the home. He has ridden in a crate in the car and goes fine. Chico loves to sleep deep under the bed covers. He will sleep out on the sofa as well. Chico is a quiet fellow and will make an excellent chill companion! Chico is neutered, HW negative, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting him our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
Meet Peanut Peanut is an older fellow (11 years) but pretty spry and full of life! He is a Velcro dog that loves to be with his person, which is pretty much anyone who gives him attention. He is friendly towards strangers. Peanut needs to be fed soft food ( doing well in Science diet sensitive skin and stomach) and he loves small bits of Pupperoni for a treat. He is a homebody who would prefer to walk around in a fenced yard but will walk on leash if needed. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every 5 hours or so. Peanut enjoys car rides too! He will sleep in bed with you or out on the sofa. He has not been crate trained as he does fine when free. Peanut does well with cats and other dogs as long as they respect his space. His only negative trait is fear of thunderstorms. He will run off if scared. He trembles and shakes until the storms pass. Overall Peanut will make a great companion! He is smart and engaged. Peanut is vaccinated, HW negative, neutered and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Peanut our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.
