Story
Please read the dog's bio (below) in its entirety before asking questions. If interested, please visit our website and read our adoption policies and complete an application:  www.nakedkissesdogrescue.org/adoption.  If you do not find the answer to your question(s) on our website, please feel free to email us at nakedkissesdogrescue@gmail.com. Kaycee is young lady at about 10 months old and roughly 7 lbs .   She is full of life and energy and has eyes that will stare deep into your soul. She is doing great learning her manners and basic training skills in her foster home. Kaycee is really quick to learn and is super treat motivated! Kaycee will need a chihuahua savvy owner and someone willing to stick to a routine and continue with her basic training. She will warm up to her new people quickly but strangers take her a minute or two. She is working on her confidence building and will need to be given some patience, support and guidance. She has been around other bigger dogs and a cat in her foster home and gets along well with all. She really wants to play with everyone so a playful cat or dog would be great for her. If there is another dog in the home they will need to be her same size or bigger than she is, as well as confident. Kaycee loves to go for walks and on any adventure and does great! Loud noises make her nervous, but she recovers quickly and is back to exploring the world. She would love a fenced yard as she needs frequent potty breaks, but it is not mandatory. In her future home, she will need to be fed in a crate, away from other pets as other dogs make her nervous around food. Florida thunder storms make her a little nervous but as long as she has a lap to sit in and ride out the storm she is fine. She is not destructive or overly anxious. Kaycee wants to be apart of anything you do especially if it involves a care ride. She must continue her basic training and confidence building. Kaycee is is doing great with potty training. She will consistently go potty outside with frequent potty breaks and will go on a pad or grass pad in the house in an emergency. She is crated when her foster parents leave during the day and at night and doesn't have accidents in her crate. Kaycee is a great little pup and will be a great companion for anyone who is willing to stick to her training and work through her confidence building. She is fostered in Sebastian, FL, and her adoption fee is $400. October 18, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
This boy is a gem! He's absolutely perfect. Enrique is a 7 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua (mix?). He’s tiny but mighty, and a lil bit stocky. This super sweet social butterfly boy is an easy keeper and steals the heart of everyone he meets Enrique gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and has never met a stranger. He is playful and affectionate with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion but people are his PASSION! We have not seen him around children so perhaps older children would be best with his tiny size. His favorite place is in your lap or snuggled up in your neck. Enrique is fully vetted, even bloodwork and a dental with 15 teeth removed, ouch. Enrique is great in the car and on a leash. He is truly a dog that you can easily take anywhere and even housetrained. He does need help getting into the bed so will bark to let you know he wants up. Snuggling, snoozing and snacking are Rique’s favorite pastimes, and he loves a little play time. He is content to stay in bed or explore the town. Enrique is fostered in Vero Beach, and his fee is $350. Visit www.nakedkissesdogrescue.org to read our policies and to apply.    October 18, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
Meet Dakota! She came to us when her owner passed away and the family could not keep her. She is a 4-year-old, spayed Chihuahua mix that weighs 16lbs. Dakota does well with cats (especially kittens) and dogs; we have not tested her with children. This is what her foster has to say about her: Dakota is the best cuddler. She has been through a lot in her short life and gets nervous when things change. She is playful, she likes playing with dogs but kittens are her favorite! She does not like being crated; she does fine out alone. Whoever adopts her will have a great new little family member! Remember, adopting a dog means committing to them for life. You will also need to give her time to adjust to her new home and its expectations. If you're interested in adopting Dakota, please don't call. Instead, complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We carefully review the care history of past and current pets. Our goal is to find the very best homes for all our dogs and cats, so we reserve the right to approve or deny applications based on what's best for the pets. #dogsareworthit #adoptdontshop #chimix #rescueisthebestbreed #lovedogs #dogs #dogsareacommittment

Story
Meet Chico! Chico is a 6-7 year old little guy who was surrendered to us when his owner could no longer care for him. Chico is a reserved fellow until he decides that he trusts you. He is fairly independent. He wouldn't do well with young children. He is happy sleeping in his favorite bed just knowing you are around. Chico does well with other dogs and cats. Chico does not care for leash walking but can be trained. He tolerates car rides OK. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every five hours or so. Chico prefers soft food. He enjoys Pepperoni treats! Chico had a bad habit in his previous home of barking and running after people who are leaving. He has not done this in his foster home. Chico is not crate trained as he behaves well in the home. He has ridden in a crate in the car and goes fine. Chico loves to sleep deep under the bed covers. He will sleep out on the sofa as well. Chico is a quiet fellow and will make an excellent chill companion! Chico is neutered, HW negative, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting him our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
Meet Peanut Peanut is an older fellow (11 years) but pretty spry and full of life! He is a Velcro dog that loves to be with his person, which is pretty much anyone who gives him attention. He is friendly towards strangers. Peanut needs to be fed soft food ( doing well in Science diet sensitive skin and stomach) and he loves small bits of Pupperoni for a treat. He is a homebody who would prefer to walk around in a fenced yard but will walk on leash if needed. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every 5 hours or so. Peanut enjoys car rides too! He will sleep in bed with you or out on the sofa. He has not been crate trained as he does fine when free. Peanut does well with cats and other dogs as long as they respect his space. His only negative trait is fear of thunderstorms. He will run off if scared. He trembles and shakes until the storms pass. Overall Peanut will make a great companion! He is smart and engaged. Peanut is vaccinated, HW negative, neutered and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Peanut our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
From Molly's Foster mom:Molly is a super sweet senior gal brought in as a stray. The first few days were hard. Molly seemed anxious and confused. She would often pace and whine. Outside in our fenced in yard she would put her nose through the slats and bark. As the days progressed, she calmed down but when awake would follow you from room to room. Overall, she is a very quiet and docile pup. I bathed her and cleaned her ears in the first few days. She seeks humane companionship but is not a cuddly lap dog. She likes to sit or stand alongside you to be petted. Occasionally you get a small tail wag. She has shown no signs of aggression and shies away from other dogs. Her favorite pastime is to sleep on the couch all day and at night preferable with a human. She likes short leisurely walks in quiet environments. She is overwhelmed by big crowds of dogs and people. Molly likes to roll in the grass and sniff the fresh air. She has not had any accidents in the house. The crate is not her favorite place, but she does not bark or destroy bedding inside the crate. She is deaf except to very loud noises, but her eyesight seems to be fairly good. Molly would like to keep on truckin into her forever home for her remaining Golden years. She would do best with a person who is patient and committed to work with any anxiety/confusion of being in a new environment. She needs security and reassurance of a stable home. With time this little girl will shine.
