Story
This girl was part of a hoarding rescue. She will need extra care and patience. She is very sweet but also very timid. She is not used to being held, touched or even talked to. She does not bite or fight when being held but still would be considered a flight risk. She will someone who has the time to help her come out of her shell and get used to being loved. She deserves a forever family that can work with her needs and give her the love she deserves. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Meet handsome Dupuis. His momma is an 11 lbs chi mix ... daddy unknown, so we are guessing based on current size he will remain under 25 lbs when full grown, as he currently tops out at just under 9 lbs and was born 6/6/24. Dupuis has a very sweet personality and is looking for a forever home with a person or family that can keep up with him and work with him on potty and leash training. He has only had direct contact with other small dogs so far. Please no small children under 8 years old and a fenced yard is preferred as active pups need a safe place to run and burn off energy. He is micro chipped, neutered and current on vaccines, heartworm and flea and tick. Dupuis is currently being fostered in Cookeville, TN but transportation via Rescue Riders LLC to one of their locations is included in the adoption fee. Please reach out if you are interested in applying to add Dupuis to your family and we will direct you on how to apply.

Story
This is Peanut. Peanut is a neutered male Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix, he weighs approximately 10 pounds, up to date with his shots and he is about a year old. He is about 50% house trained. He knows to go potty outside, he's just not sure how to ask to go outside yet, so he will need a little patience and training. Peanut had a family who had an autistic son. As the son got older, it wasn't working out to have a dog. So, peanut was dropped off at the shelter. Peanut is a very affectionate little guy. He loves to be around people getting pets and love. Peanut does well with other dogs and he loves to play. He's not crazy about pit bull breeds, but he does great with all other breeds. I don't think Peanut has ever been around cats, but I think he would do well with them. Peanut would also do well as an only dog. As far as children, he would do best around older kids (8 years & older)Peanut loves long walks, hiking and he just learned how to swim this week! He LOVES swimming now. He loves to eat, he is very food motivated which makes it easy to train him. If you think Peanut would be a good fit for you, fill out the application form on Fancy Cat's Website and we will contact you for a meet and greet. Peanut can't wait to meet you.  __________________________________________________ This dog's adoption fee is $525. Story
Oscar came in last year to one of our rescue partners and was adopted by a kennel attendant that worked there.  Sadly, the attendant had some domestic problems and could not keep him. Oscar is 3  yrs. old, a longhaired chihuahua mix, 11 lbs., neutered and vaccinated. He is a little shy but in just a little bit, once he knows you he is fine. Oscar will do best in a home without children. He is very quiet and neat and house trained.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Mike! Mike is about 13 weeks old and weighs approximately 8 lbs. Please see his brothers DNA testing in the picture section. Mike is a sweet and playful puppy who spends his days chasing and wrestling with his brother Sully and the resident dogs in the foster home. Mike loves to cuddle whenever there is a lap available. Mike really loves being with other dogs and is a "dog's dog" kind of guy. He would really be happiest if his forever home had another dog to accept him as a buddy. Mike is working on his house and crate training and doing well. Young puppies require an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to work on training and socialization. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be neutered at the age of 6 months. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care.
