Hi, I’m Rosalee, a vibrant Chi mix with a unique coat of red, black, white, and even some cool-looking blonde patches. I’m a spry little lady at just 1 year old and a light 17lbs. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and heartworm negative. I’m a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. I have spina bifida, which means I can’t be potty trained, but that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping joyfully. I’ve also had surgery for a luxating patella and have recovered beautifully, completing all my physical therapy like a champ. I’m looking for a family that will embrace my energetic spirit and my special needs with open arms. If you’re looking for a companion who’s full of life and love, I might just be the perfect addition to your home. Let’s make every day together a beautiful adventure! I am being fostered in Hampton, VA but can be transported to nearby areas for a well-fitting and supportive home. You must be 21 or older to apply. She is full of life and energy and has eyes that will stare deep into your soul. She is doing great learning her manners and basic training skills in her foster home. Kaycee is really quick to learn and is super treat motivated! Kaycee will need a chihuahua savvy owner and someone willing to stick to a routine and continue with her basic training. She will warm up to her new people quickly but strangers take her a minute or two. She is working on her confidence building and will need to be given some patience, support and guidance. She has been around other bigger dogs and a cat in her foster home and gets along well with all. She really wants to play with everyone so a playful cat or dog would be great for her. If there is another dog in the home they will need to be her same size or bigger than she is, as well as confident. Kaycee loves to go for walks and on any adventure and does great! Loud noises make her nervous, but she recovers quickly and is back to exploring the world. She would love a fenced yard as she needs frequent potty breaks, but it is not mandatory. In her future home, she will need to be fed in a crate, away from other pets as other dogs make her nervous around food. Florida thunder storms make her a little nervous but as long as she has a lap to sit in and ride out the storm she is fine. She is not destructive or overly anxious. Kaycee wants to be apart of anything you do especially if it involves a care ride. She must continue her basic training and confidence building. Kaycee is is doing great with potty training. She will consistently go potty outside with frequent potty breaks and will go on a pad or grass pad in the house in an emergency. She is crated when her foster parents leave during the day and at night and doesn't have accidents in her crate. Kaycee is a great little pup and will be a great companion for anyone who is willing to stick to her training and work through her confidence building. This boy is a gem! He's absolutely perfect. Enrique is a 7 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua (mix?). He’s tiny but mighty, and a lil bit stocky. This super sweet social butterfly boy is an easy keeper and steals the heart of everyone he meets Enrique gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and has never met a stranger. He is playful and affectionate with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion but people are his PASSION! We have not seen him around children so perhaps older children would be best with his tiny size. His favorite place is in your lap or snuggled up in your neck. Enrique is fully vetted, even bloodwork and a dental with 15 teeth removed, ouch. Enrique is great in the car and on a leash. He is truly a dog that you can easily take anywhere and even housetrained. He does need help getting into the bed so will bark to let you know he wants up. Snuggling, snoozing and snacking are Rique’s favorite pastimes, and he loves a little play time. He is content to stay in bed or explore the town. Rodney is a very curious, mischievous little guy who gets into everything, just like a little puppy. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying. But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle. Can you believe that underbite he has? I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him. It might make him look tough but Rodney is a 'softie' through and through. He is just an adorable, sweet pup and he deserves a much better home than the hoarding conditions that he came from.
