Hi, I’m Rosalee, a vibrant Chi mix with a unique coat of red, black, white, and even some cool-looking blonde patches. I’m a spry little lady at just 1 year old and a light 17lbs. I’m spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and heartworm negative. I’m a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. I have spina bifida, which means I can’t be potty trained, but that doesn’t stop me from running and jumping joyfully. I’ve also had surgery for a luxating patella and have recovered beautifully, completing all my physical therapy like a champ. I’m looking for a family that will embrace my energetic spirit and my special needs with open arms. If you’re looking for a companion who’s full of life and love, I might just be the perfect addition to your home. Let’s make every day together a beautiful adventure! I am being fostered in Hampton, VA but can be transported to nearby areas for a well-fitting and supportive home. You must be 21 or older to apply. This boy is a gem! He's absolutely perfect. Fostered in Vero Beach, FL, BUT he could hitch a ride up to Virginia during the first part of December. Enrique is a 7 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua (mix?). He’s tiny but mighty, and a lil bit stocky. This super sweet social butterfly boy is an easy keeper and steals the heart of everyone he meets Enrique gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and has never met a stranger. He is playful and affectionate with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion but people are his PASSION! We have not seen him around children so perhaps older children would be best with his tiny size. His favorite place is in your lap or snuggled up in your neck. Enrique is fully vetted, even bloodwork and a dental with 15 teeth removed, ouch. Enrique is great in the car and on a leash. He is truly a dog that you can easily take anywhere and even housetrained. He does need help getting into the bed so will bark to let you know he wants up. Snuggling, snoozing and snacking are Rique’s favorite pastimes, and he loves a little play time. He is content to stay in bed or explore the town. Meet Parker! This precious little guy is 4 years old and about 12 lbs. Evidently Parker did not have a very good life prior to joining Critter Cavalry. We think he was bullied by another dog. He is a 'sit on the sidelines and watch' kinda guy who doesn't really want to play with anyone. He doesn't mind the other dogs and definitely is not mean. He would just rather be with people. Parker is super sweet and loves people. He just wants to be where his foster mom is. Parker would be a wonderful companion for someone that just wants one dog and who would like a dog they can take places. He would love that and would love to be friends with all your friends. He is just precious and very friendly. He gentlY smells you to make sure you are OK and then he is good. He was smiling during his photo shoot and seemed to enjoy all the attention. Meet Curious Puppy Coco. This beautiful brindle boy is only 17 weeks old and 7 lbs. Just look at that face. It definitely tells you that this curious little guy will be in the middle of everything. This little boy is all legs. You just want to smile when you look at him. He is at that awkward stage in life with legs and feet going every where. Coco is a very sweet boy. He is super friendly and does not meet a stranger. He happily goes up to everyone to be petted. Coco loves other dogs and has a big time playing with his foster brothers. He is a bit of a pest to the older dogs though as he always wants to play. Coco would love to have another young brother or sister to play with. He definitely needs a companion to keep him busy. When Coco does settle down he is a great little cuddle boy and will curl up in your lap or beside you to go to sleep. This little guy is doggie door and crate trained. He walks OK on a leash but does need some additional training. He is very smart though and catches on quickly. He will be an excellent addition to the right family. Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for critter.Cavalry turquoise noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public. This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly. She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us. She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath. Anna has lots of love to give and deserves a family to spoil her.
