Story
Tanner's foster mom thinks he is pretty close to perfect. He is house trained, crate trained and comes flying when called. He loves walks, hikes and car rides. His favorite thing though is to be with his people all cuddled up. Tanner is good with dogs and does great with small/medium dogs, but is not good with cats.  Tanner loves attention and would love to find his forever home.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 2, 2024, 8:25 am

Noa is starting to explore more. She loves to be outside and sit in the sun. Her favorite thing to do is sit in bed with a loving human. Noa is house and crate trained. She gets along with other dogs. Noa came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving '50 to 100' Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 150!  They were all living in a filthy home surrounded by trash and feces. There was no running water or electricity.  Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 2, 2024, 8:25 am

Story
Fostering shady for over a week has been quite rewarding. He is just now becoming a real dog. Though he still has a ways to go, Shady is fully housetrained, getting a voice and starting to play with toys. He loves looking out windows and sitting in sunshine. He is still learning to walk on a leash, but we are going for mini walks with the resident dog and that has been very positive. It is only taking several days to get used to something new and the he will fully accept it. Shady is a very smart and bright dog. Since he came from a hoarding situation he will need time to acclimate to his new environment but does not take to long. I feel he will become a great pet for a person who will take time and patience to do an adjustment period in a calm household.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 2, 2024, 8:25 am

The trailer had no running water or electricity.  Our rescue partner said 'It was, honestly, one of the worst properties I've been on and I have been on some BAD ones.'  Thanks to our wonderful fosters we were able to rescue 8 dogs. Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 2, 2024, 8:25 am

Story
Max is a happy little lovebug! He bonded quickly with his foster mom and follows her around the house. He is a lap dog and loves to snuggle and get belly rubs, though he is not too needy and is also content to just be near his foster mom. He sleeps curled up under the covers in bed at night.Max is curious and loves walks and exploring and sniffing outside. He would love to be the only dog in the home but could be okay sharing a home with the right dog. Thank you for your interest in Max! Story
Biscuit's foster shared this about him: 'He is totally house trained. He goes to the door and whines if he wants to go potty. He also does not chew on anything or act aggressively with my three small older dogs. I leave him loose in the house when I need to leave for a few hours, and everything is fine when I return home. He will howl and whine for a few minutes if you leave him alone in a room and he can't follow you. He likes to sit in your lap or in a dog bed during the day. At night, he wants to sleep in your bed. You have to lift him on and off of the bed, he is overweight, and he needs assistance. He does not like crates. He loves to go on walks, and he wags his tail and does not bark if he sees another person walking their dog. He has a great personality, and he will suddenly do zoomies around the house and play with a soft dog toy, but that only lasts for a minute. It is very comical when it happens. I think he would do best in a home where someone is home for most of the day. He rides well in a car. Biscuit is in the process of losing weight. He is looking for someone in need of a chunky BFF.' Story
Peanut is just that a little peanut! But not the salty kind. Instead, he is super sweet! Here is what his foster mother says of little Peanut: 'Peanut is such a sweet boy. He loves other dogs. I don't have any cats so I don't know how he would be with cats but he loves everyone he meets. He is adorable when he sees himself in his reflection he wants to play. He is funny about his crate, he doesn't fuss when he's in it but he runs the other way when it's time to get in. I think he thinks it's a game. He's a total sweetheart and a very fun little dog! Let us know if you would like to meet Peanut. Thank you for your interest in Peanut G! Story
ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 12-14 lbs ESTIMATED AGE: 3 years KNOWN WITH DOGS: Lennox is good with other dogs but mostly ignores them. Will sometimes bark at bigger dogs while out walking - but hey, that's what Chihuahuas do! KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not know at this time KNOWN WITH KIDS: He was given to the shelter after a child in the family was known to pick on him - smacking and pulling - so we do not suggest Lennox for young children as he will likely show some fear of them given his past abuse. So far he has shown nothing but friendly, outgoing behavior to all he meets, but we want to set him up for success! KNOWN COMMANDS: Still learning but knows what "go outside means! We think he's some more under his belt but we're still getting to know him. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: He is housebroken. He did mark once in the home when he arrived but has not done so since. KNOWN LIKES: He likes to give kisses, go on walks, cuddle and be cute. KNOWN DISLIKES: Children pulling on him - so he will be best with adults or kids over 10 years of age. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: This adorably guy rides really well in the car, walks well on leash and is a well-behaved boy indoors. He can be a bit barky when seeing new people or dogs or around doorbell so he may be better suited for a house vs. apartment. He's a very cute, friendly dude who was not treated well in his previous home by a child so he deserves to have a place where he can be himself and not live in fear. He's a great little guy!! She is silly, super playful and quick on her feet. She is cautious, but also cutipus little jumping bean. She does not like being left alone so someone who is home most of the day would be ideal for her! She gets super excited when she sees her food getting prepared :) We are currently working on potty training and she's had only one accident since her first day.
