Story
Introducing Bubba! Bubba is 12 years old and 32 lbs, but don’t let those numbers fool you. He is full of spunk and energy! Sadly, Bubba found himself at a rural shelter after his owner passed away and is looking for a loving home to ride out his senior years. Bubba loves to go on long walks and sniff every leaf and tree he can. His new year's resolution is to lose some weight to be ready to hit the beach in the summer, so the more walks the better. He walks well on a leash and is house broken. He appears to be a bit hard of hearing, which means you can grind those coffee beans early in the morning without worrying about waking him up. At home, he loves to stare out the window and watch people and animals wander about. He will let you know when he sees something interesting! Bubba loves cuddling on the couch, chewing on bones, playing tug-o-war, and giving everyone kisses. He is super friendly and loves to just be in the same room as you while you do your thing. Interested in learning more about Bubba? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt. *Bubba is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Noa is starting to explore more. She loves to be outside and sit in the sun. Noa is house and crate trained. She also gets along with other dogs. Noa came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving '50 to 100' Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 200!  They were all living in a filthy home surrounded by trash and feces. There was no running water or electricity.  Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org December 16, 2024, 7:47 pm

Devi is a victim of a very bad hoarding case involving 200+ dogs.  As a result, she came to us completely unsocialized, but she is making great progress.  We have been taking things very slow with her and her foster family is now able to pet her. Now they are currently working on picking her up and giving her cuddles which is all new for her. She truly is a sweetheart. This beautiful dog is waiting for someone who has tons of love and patience to help her continue to gain her confidence.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org February 8, 2025, 8:08 pm

Sidney came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving '50 to 100' Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 200!  They were all living in a filthy mobile home surrounded by trash and feces. The trailer had no running water or electricity.  Our rescue partner said 'It was, honestly, one of the worst properties I've been on and I have been on some BAD ones.'  Thanks to our wonderful fosters we were able to rescue 8 dogs. Sidney was pregnant when she arrived to AFH. She has since had an emergency c-section on 10/30/24. Only one puppy was viable, but he is doing very well.  Although she was wary of people when she first arrived, she has really come around and has made great strides towards trusting people.  Sidney is housetrained, crate trained and leash trained. Sidney's WISDOM PANEL results:  37% Chihuahua, 3% Toy Fox Terrier, 2% Miniature Pincher, 17% Chow Chow, 4% Siberian Husky, 3% Alaskan Malamute, 2% Kai Ken, 2% Chinese Shar-Pei, 7% Papillon,3% Shih-Tzu, 3% Toy Poodle, 7% German Shepherd Dog, 2% Collie, 4% American Pit Bull Terrier, 3% American Cocker Spaniel, 1% Labrador RetrieverAccuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org December 16, 2024, 8:09 pm

Peanut is just that a little peanut! But not the salty kind. Instead, he is super sweet! Here is what his foster mother says of little Peanut: 'Peanut is such a sweet boy. He loves other dogs. I don't have any cats so I don't know how he would be with cats but he loves everyone he meets. He is adorable when he sees himself in his reflection he wants to play. He is funny about his crate, he doesn't fuss when he's in it but he runs the other way when it's time to get in. I think he thinks it's a game. He's a total sweetheart and a very fun little dog! Let us know if you would like to meet Peanut. Thank you for your interest in Peanut G! Story
ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 12-14 lbs ESTIMATED AGE: 3 years KNOWN WITH DOGS: Lennox is good with other dogs but mostly ignores them when inside or in the yard KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not know at this time KNOWN WITH KIDS: He was given to the shelter after a child in the family was known to pick on him - smacking and pulling - so we do not suggest Lennox for young children as he will likely show some fear of them given his past abuse. So far he has shown nothing but friendly, outgoing behavior to all he meets, but we want to set him up for success! KNOWN COMMANDS: Still learning but knows what go outside means! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: He is housebroken. He doesnt love the crate but his fosters are working on it with him. IKNOWN LIKES: He likes to give kisses, go on walks, cuddle and be cute. Lennox will do best if he gets a nice long walk daily as it seems to make him very happy! He also loves food puzzles to keep his mind challenged. Finally, he is very food motivated so this helps with ongoing training, which we always support. KNOWN DISLIKES: Children pulling on him - so he will be best with adults or kids over 10 years of age. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: This adorably guy rides really well in the car, like to take walks and play with his puzzle toys. He can be a bit barky when seeing new people or dogs or around doorbell so he may be better suited for a house vs. apartment. He loves to play in the yard but needs walks also to keep him stimulated. Lennon display some fear to other dog and some people when walking on a leash and will bark a lot. His foster is working on getting him more comfortable walking on leash in public. I He's a very cute, friendly dude who was not treated well in his previous home by a child so he deserves to have a place where he can be himself and not live in fear. He's a great little guy!! Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, pleas r visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Fairbanks! Fairbanks is a Pomsky (Pomeranian/husky) who is 8 years old and 25 pounds. Fairbanks is a very sweet girl but is sadly losing her home as her owners are moving. She has been raised by a wonderful family since she was a baby puppy. She is very sweet and loving. Fairbanks is house trained, and crate trained. Even at age 8, she very much enjoys running in the yard and will require a home that can give her a fenced yard to run and play in. She gets along with other dogs her size or bigger but doesn't engage in much play time. This sweet girl has not loved with children but enjoys meeting people of all ages so we feel she would be fine in a home with children who are old enough to be respectful of a dogs space. Fairbanks is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $300.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
