PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - HOLT Looking for a new furry friend? Look no further than Holt! This young, male pup is friendly, affectionate, gentle and quiet, and is looking for a forever home where he can be the center of attention. Despite his youth, Holt is a very wise and calm dog and will be a great companion for an animal lover who is looking for a lovely pet. Holt came to us from a NC shelter after his owner passed away. He lived with several other small dogs, and has been kind to the others in rescue. He's in good health - already neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He tested negative for heart worms and has lovely teeth befitting a dog 1-2 years of age. If you're ready to open your heart and your home to this sweetheart, please get in touch. He's waiting to meet you! Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Not only is she adorable, but she is super sweet and very playful. Though young (still a puppy) Goldie clearly prefers humans to animals and will quickly snap at another animal invading her space. She loves toys, treats, snuggles and laying in the sun. She loves being right beside her person. Likely to be around 10 pounds when fully grown, she is a perfect size for most homes! Goldie is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this precious puppy! A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will give her room to run and play securely. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - ZARINA BREED - Chihuahua SIZE - About 8 pounds AGE - 1-3 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Zarina, which means "golden", is a precious little girl who came to us from a NC shelter partner. She is very quiet and initially shy, but we are seeing her warm up more each day and that's in our kennel with new volunteers. We can only imagine how beautifully she would bloom in a loving home! Zarina is a little gal, only 8 pounds. Her pictures make her appear larger than she is. Not only is she adorable, but she is super sweet and very gentle. She loves the other small dogs here and likes the people who interact with her. Zarina is in good health. She will be spayed and microchipped in early November, so is only available for adoption locally to Richmond, VA. Once she has been spayed, we can consider out of town adoptions. Zarina is up to date on vaccines and has tested negative for heart worms. We are seeking a home with an adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this sweet girl. The consistency of routine will help her to quickly settle in to a new home. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will provide safety for play time and bath rooming. Zarina will fit nicely into most homes. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - SOPHIA BREED - Chihuahua SIZE - About 10 pounds AGE - 11 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Sophia is a sweet little girl whose owner passed away in early summer. After her passing, the owner's friend took her, and another small dog from their home, into her care and provided long overdue veterinary care and immediate needs. Sophia has had a complete dental cleaning with extractions, vaccine updates, a spay surgery with mammary tumor removal and her coat and skin eradicated of fleas. This poor little gal was the beneficiary of great kindness, and now it's time for her to find her new home and family. Not only is she adorable, but he is super sweet. Sophia loves people and other small dogs, but is not a fan of young children. We suspect that she has a history of being mishandled by them as her mom was a daycare provider. This little sweetheart would be happy beside her special person enjoying a quiet life. Fully grown at just 10 pounds, she is a perfect size for most homes! We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with her. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will be in Sophia's best interest. She will make a wonderful companion for a senior person who is able to care for her independently. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Story
Rodney is a very curious, mischievous little guy who gets into everything, just like a little puppy. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying.  But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle.  Can you believe that underbite he has?  I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him.  It might make him look tough but Rodney is a 'softie' through and through.  He is just an adorable, sweet pup and he deserves a much better home than the hoarding conditions that he came from.  Maybe you want to help him see the blessings of a new home and secure lifestyle.  He will make you laugh, he will make you smile and he will make you feel loved!  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in giving him a forever home.  Please tell us the city and state that you live in when you write to us. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Silver Sam is 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds.  Part of a big hoarding case, he was taken to the shelter and there he sat for a few months.  Critter Cavalry Rescue could not stand the thought that he was in that out of the way shelter where no one comes to adopt a dog.   We pulled  7 dogs from that hoarding case and some had been there for 6 months.  Sam is a hoot as they say.   He is funny and active and must be watched if in a chain link fenced yard.  He might find an escape route and take off just for the fun of it.  He doesn’t go far but he sure does love the chase.  He is good with other dogs and he is full of antics with the cats.  He is almost housebroken and he is just the most loving lap dog ever.  Such a great smile and attitude despite some terrible conditions in his previous life.  He is with someone that loves the Chihuahua breed and understands all the little quirks.  He really has not bad habits except the fun of occasionally making a run for it just to see you panic.  Just a little Houdini in his spirit to have some fun.  If you are interested in this guy please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Tell us where you live   and what city and state.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
