Story
Hello, my name is Mac. I was born June 5th 2022. I am a very loving dog who loves to go outside, run for a long time, play tug of war with my toys, I have a lot of energy in me! I am also house trained, as long as the pad stays where we agreed, I won’t forget. 😄Unfortunately, my mom is needing to rehome me though. 😔 I’m not a bad dog, I’m very loving, kind, and I like to act tough but truly I’m a little scaredy cat… there is just a lot going on that she needs time to find a better home who is gonna love me to my full potential! Who is gonna be patient with me when I make mistakes. & who is gonna understand… I can be a bit needy… I tend to cry and howl when I’m feeling lonely. I don’t mean to annoy you… please be patient with me if you pick me. I’m not use to anyone other than my mom. 😢 I tend to get protective but truly, I’m nervous. if you are that special person with a loving animals, patient heart…. Please reach out to us. 🐾

Story
Ginger has been our only pet for 7 years. She was a rescue dog that immediately bonded with our 12 y/o daughter. Our daughter is now in college and Ginger needs a new companion. She lives for her daily walks and exercise she gets every evening. She loves being outside during the day, inside with us in the evenings, and sleeps on the porch in her kennel. Ginger is very obedient and responds well to her name and these words: go outside, go for a walk, treat, go potty, eat your dinner, out (of a space or room), stay (for short periods of time), sit, shake, sing for a treat (howl), lets go. She does not lick, does not jump on people (just on doors to go out), does not whine or bark for attention, does not beg to be pet. She is such a good dog. She likes women, tends to be afraid of men, is suspicious of fast moving children. She does not make friends with other dogs and thinks she is 4 times her size. She would be an excellent companion for a senior adult or an active family.

Story
My name is Sugar. I’m a 7 year old female Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. Sadly my owner passed away in February. I miss him terribly. The people that have been caring for me have been so nice. I like where I’m at but unfortunately I can’t stay here forever. They both work and travel a lot so that means I spend a lot of time home alone. They feed me good food along with treats and give me lots of praise, but my quality of life is not great when left alone. I was very attached to my previous owner and really didn’t know anything else. My previous owner was not the most social person so I have not been socialized very well. I get along with other dogs and I love it when people come to visit. I also love to go outside and chase the squirrels. I won’t hurt them I just like to see if I can out run them. So far they have all been faster than me. Im very smart I love my toys and will play fetch with anyone that will play with me. I would love to find a human I can lay next to in a calm home.

Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas)

Story
Hi there. I am Ory, short for Orion. I am a 15 pound, male, chi mix ( most likely chiweenie). I have a long daschund body, expressive eyes ( for catching the babes) and fox ears. I was found running down the alley in foster mom's neighborhood. I wasn't chipped and no one recognized me so foster mom took me home and got me into the rescue. I did turn out to be heartworm positive but just went through treatment and I'm a new guy! I'm ready to go to a home that will keep me on heartworm prevention so that I don't get those pesky worms again. I am housebroken, crate trained and very obedient. I love going on car rides and for walks. I am a very quiet dog who likes to sit next to my person while they watch tv or read a book. Foster mom says I'm a major cuddler who loves to sleep under a bunch of blankets in my crate. She sometimes can only see my tail! I get along with other dogs and respect their space. I love people and allow children to pet me when they come up to me on walks. It is unknown how I do with cats as foster mom does not have any. I do love to chase squirrels and birds though so it's possible I might chase cats too. I do have some mild separation anxiety and would love to be in a home with a retiree or someone who works from home. It isn't necessary to have someone home all the time though as I do settle down in my crate after just a few minutes of crying. I do need to live in a home with a secure fence as I have a tendency to run away if given an opportunity. The tendency to take off is probably why I ended up being found as a stray since I definately didn't look like I had missed any meals! Iol So, as you can see, I'm an all around good guy to have around for someone looking for a companion. Are you that person? If so, have your peeps call my peeps and I'll be right over.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.ADOPTED!! This is a beautiful boy who is just the best little thing.  He only weighs 16 pounds and the vet has guestimated his age to be 2 years old.  RIO was dumped at an elementary school of which my girlfriend is a teacher.  She called me that people had just dumped him. RIO came into my home with the best manners, quiet and obedient.  He sticks really close to me but does not get in the way.  2 of the male foster dogs bark at him but he does not react, he retreats and ignores them.  RIO does not have a bad bone in his body, no aggression anywhere.  He is housetrained and pottytrained.  He hates going into the crate which I use sparingly.  I put him in the crate yesterday to take him to be neutered and he had a fit.  He really is trustworthy around the house when I am gone. RIO likes to cuddle with me while I am watching TV on the couch.  He walks very well on the leash without pulling and rides in the car without getting sick.  If you are interested in adopted RIO please submit an application on the website below. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         July 5, 2024, 7:42 am
