This was my mother’s husbands dog. My mother passed away and me nor her husband have the time to take care of her. She was found when she was still a pup and we took her in. She is a bit skittish but very sweet and does not bite nor is she mean.

Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Chong is diagnosed with a perineal hernia. Unfortunately, the surgical procedure to correct it has a low success rate. For now, it isn't causing him any issues, so we will continue to keep an eye on it. ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Chong is a quiet and loving senior boy who wants to be with his human all time. He enjoys traveling, long walks and cuddling up on his humans lap. When he is not with his foster family being carried around, he can be found napping with his brother Chong in their bed. He and his brother are best of friends and don’t mind sharing everything! We don't guarantee house trained but Chong does great when takin out regularly. He absolutely loves his treats! -- Where did he come from: They were found as strays. After weeks of trying to find their owners and having no luck they found themselves needing a new forever home. His favorite thing in the world is to snuggle in your lap & under the covers! During the day he is a perfect work-from-home buddy who will sleep at your feet in a dog bed. Petey goes potty outside like a champ and can hold his bladder all night and for many hours during the day. He will come right to you when called. He gobbles up breakfast & dinner and loves treats. Petey takes a bath well and as a short haired dog, does not require professional grooming. He is grumpy and will fuss about getting his nails trimmed, though…so watch out!! Petey will not go for walks on a leash but will be carried. He shakes when he is nervous and excited- typical of this breed! We call him our little jitterbug. He only barks at a doorbell and occasionally when out back. He is friendly to all strangers but does not do well around children under five. If you love chihuahuas and all their funny quirks, Petey is your man! He would be best as an only dog, but will tolerate another small dog if necessary.
