Foster Update on Nala! 🌞 Nala has come such a long way in the time she’s been with her foster family, and we couldn’t be more proud of her progress! She loves being outside—whether she’s exploring or just soaking up the sun, she’s all about that outdoor life. 🐾 She’s a little kitchen helper too, always hanging around for a few tasty samples while her foster family cooks. And guess what? She’s fully potty trained! Nala is so good about staying in her gated area when no one’s home and at bedtime, but when it’s TV time, she’s right there with you on the couch. 📺 She’s been bonding with Sadie, her foster sibling, a big 80-pound shepherd rescue. They just started playing together, and it’s the cutest! Nala also loves going on evening “walkabouts” with Sadie and Rickey (her foster dad) before dark, and she’s a fan of car rides too. 🚗 Oh, and did we mention? Unlike most Chihuahuas, Nala doesn’t bark much! She’s more about doing her happy zoomies, especially first thing in the morning or when her foster mom gets home. 🏃‍♀️ While she’s not the biggest snuggler yet, her foster mom is working on that with her. We’re so proud of how far this little girl has come, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for her. He listens well overall, is home trained but recently we added two new dogs too our family and he isn’t coping well with it and has recently been peeing on furniture, even though he was very well trained before. He does a handful of tricks and commands. He knows, sit, stay, down, up, speak, paw, high five, spin, get(go away), cage. He’s a very cuddly dog and loves to snuggle once he’s comfortable with you. He barks a lot and doesn’t do well with strangers but can adjust to them over time. When he’s happy he smiles lol ( his top lip gets stuck on his teeth) He loves going outside and play fighting. Amazingly he gets along better with cats more than his own species.

Meet Selma! Selma is a 2 year old possible Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) mix who wants every drop of your love. She is curious, playful, silly, and a great walking buddy. She loves to chase balls and can somehow fit a regular size tennis ball in her mouth. She is potty trained and goes in a crate when needed but prefers to snuggle with you at night.She came to us with 20 other dogs who were living on an abandoned property in horrible conditions with little to no human interaction. Since her rescue, Selma has only wanted one thing, a human. She follows her foster momma everywhere (literally) she has even fallen in the tub a few times with foster mom trying to be a part of everything she does.Her distinctive eye does not slow her down and is currently being treated by a specialist. She loves and plays with all dogs big and small but can be a little protective with bigger dogs so a home with medium to small dogs is preferred. Meet Solomon! Solomon is a brindle Chi mix that came to Saving Hope from a horrible breeder dumping environment where he was never touched or felt love. He huddled in the back of his crate for days, only coming out when he was alone. It was weeks before he let his foster mom pet him and even longer for others. After a few months under the care of Saving Hope, Solomon is a different boy and ready for his own family. He still has some fears and may bark at new people until he trusts, so he will need an adopter that understands his fears and will work to gain his trust. He gets along with other dogs, but has never been around cats or kids. Solomon is crate trained and potty trained, but will forget his manners on occasion. He is 3 years old so he’s still in the mischievous puppy stage. He can’t read, but that doesn’t keep him from eating your magazine. He weighs 22 lbs which isn’t too big or too small, but just right.
