Minerva is a 8month old 15 pound, girl who has had a very hard life. She is a Chihuahua mix, weighs about 15 pounds. She was attacked by a large dog who bit through her spine near the hips. She has lost some of the coordination in her back legs but can still walk. If she gets scared or gets in a hurry her back legs will give out on her and she drags them. otherwise she walks okay. she has healed really well and because she is young the veterinarian thinks that she may get better movement as she gets older and her muscles develop she is incontinent, so will need a diaper.. She's very affectionate She was rescued in Guadalajara, Mexico

Cheddar is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. He's a happy go lucky little ball of energy who will always be sure to put a smile on your face with his silly antics. He loves to kiss and snuggle his people. He is house and kennel trained and does well with dogs his size. Larger dogs seem to intimidate him and he will react poorly in some situations which can be potentially harmful to him but please don't let that turn you away from this amazing little man. He is fiercely protective of what he believes to be his humans. You can bet any intruder is going to think twice before messing with his people because he is an amazing little guard dog. With that being said, he takes sometime to warm up to new environments and needs to be given the chance to show you how good of a boy he truly is. Edward is roughly 6 years old. He came to us, May of 2023 (481 days ago). Now, Edward can be a little bit of a Butt to say the least. When he was first here, he would bite in a heartbeat. He didn’t want to be touched and he surely didn’t want to be picked up. Well, a year later, he will go outside but he isn’t sure he likes it. He can be picked up but you can’t startle him. Edward loves chic-fil-a waffle fries and he is very gentle to take his treats. He loves to curl up in his bed and sleep and he will sit up like a little squirrel to beg. I think Edward would do best with a single person that would give him time to learn the routine and show him the love he deserves. He really is a tough one and this is why we have been hesitant to try to find him a home. Here with us, we know his little quarks and work around them. We just want to see him succeed. Meet Oldman or Old Man or Ol' Man and let him steal your heart. This guy lived most of his life outside. His owners were no longer able to care for him, so their neighbors stepped in and asked for help for this boy. He was already neutered & microchipped (only yielded a 2017 insertion date), so we took him in for shots & a vet check. That vet check revealed multiple missing teeth and several that needed extraction. He had 8 teeth pulled yesterday and is still the sweetest, friendliest (very) Senior boy. We estimate him to be 12ish. He has been friendly with the dogs he has met here and seemed to be intimidated by cats at last check. He can't go back to living outside, so let's find him a permanent home. He'll remain at Pearl's Place until he finds a forever family. He has waited MANY years to live in a home.
