Story
Introducing Rio! Rio is a 1-year-old male Chiweenie mix that weighs 10lbs! He was brought into Rockwall Adoption Center as a stray on 3/15/26 and after completing his stray hold, he is now ready to find his forever family! Rio is very social and enjoys playing with his people. Since Rio is a new shelter resident, we are unsure of how he does with other dogs so a meet and greet is highly encouraged if you have another pet. Once the shelter staff get to know him better, his bio will be updated accordingly. Rio's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccine, DHLPP booster vaccine, and Bordetella vaccine. Rio did test positive for heartworms but thanks to Rockwall PAWS his treatment is sponsored. If you have questions about his treatment, please ask RAC staff. If you are interested in meeting or adoption Rio, please submit an adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ . Rio can't wait to wiggle his way into your hearts!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. March 18, 2026, 4:58 pm

Story
Ernie is officially available for adoption! -10yo, long haired chihuahua & 13lbs -Neutered, vax’d, chipped & hw neg -Dog, cat and people friendly -Crate and potty trained -Tripod -Sweet, loving boy -Very low energy Ernie was found as a stray in Seagoville along with his brother Bert and brought to the shelter. Ernie was chipped, but owners hung up when the shelter contacted them. Unfortunately, we realized soon after picking them up that Bert was hospice and did not have very long. Ernie has adapted well since loosing Bert. Ernie would do well in a home with other dogs, but equally happy as an only dog. He would be great for a senior (the rescue has a senior program too)! He got a dental, benign masses removed and his leg amputated and has adjusted very well! Ernie is a true couch potato & loves sleeping and lounging the entire day! If interested in Ernie, please fill out an application in order to schedule a call!

Story
🐶 Meet Biscuit ❤️ Biscuit is a sweet 4-year-old, 12-pound lap dog that we adopted after he was found as a stray about two years ago. He loves his people, is great with our toddler, and gets along well with other dogs and animals. Since we moved, he has learned how to escape our backyard. He always comes home, but we worry about him getting hurt, and with our busy schedules we feel he would do best in a home where someone is around more often. Biscuit would be perfect for someone who wants a loving companion and can give him regular walks and attention. He deserves a safe, happy forever home. Please message if you think Biscuit might be a good fit for your family.
