Ernie is officially available for adoption! -10yo, long haired chihuahua & 13lbs -Neutered, vax’d, chipped & hw neg -Dog, cat and people friendly -Crate and potty trained -Tripod -Sweet, loving boy -Very low energy Ernie was found as a stray in Seagoville along with his brother Bert and brought to the shelter. Ernie was chipped, but owners hung up when the shelter contacted them. Unfortunately, we realized soon after picking them up that Bert was hospice and did not have very long. Ernie has adapted well since loosing Bert. Ernie would do well in a home with other dogs, but equally happy as an only dog. He would be great for a senior (the rescue has a senior program too)! He got a dental, benign masses removed and his leg amputated and has adjusted very well! Ernie is a true couch potato & loves sleeping and lounging the entire day! Story

Meet Pearl! She was taken to the shelter by a good samaritan after they accidently hit her with her car. She had two pelvic fractures and a femoral fracture. Knowing she needed more care than the shelter could provide, her only options were to be tagged by a rescue or unfortunately be euthanized. We were able to take her into our rescue and she had surgery the following week to fix her femur fracture! She has fully recovered from her surgery but will most likely always walk with a limp since her left leg is now about an inch shorter than her right. Even through all the difficulties she has endured, she has been the most precious dog and is so loving. She can be timid at first, but quickly latches on to the people she trusts. She has now turned into her fosters shadow around the house! We are so excited she is officially ready for adoption. Adoption fee is $200, which goes directly to helping pay for her surgery and care. Beau came back to rescue when he lost his human. He is a loving little guy who wants to devote himself to someone and be a cuddlebug again. He lives with other dogs, and although he will not play with them, he is fine around them. He would like to be the only dog in his forever home, though he would not mind having a cat to share with.While he is not house or crate trained, he will use potty pads, primarily because in his previous home, his senior mom had him use them instead of going outside most of the time. He used only to eat human food, but we have him on Fresh Pet now, and he looks forward to his meals and treats.Beau walks well on a leash and is good about going for a ride, so he would be fine as a travel companion, but is okay when he has to stay home. At home, he likes to bundle himself in a blanket and lie back, waiting to be cuddled.He is fully vetted- current with vaccines, neutered, micro chipped, and on flea/tick and heartwormprevention.
