Story
Meet Romeo, an adorable senior pup with a heart as big as his name! This sweet boy is over 8 years old and, while he’s slowly losing his eyesight, he’s still healthy, happy, and full of love to give. Romeo recently had a dental cleaning and had a few teeth removed, but that hasn’t stopped him from enjoying life. He’s a well-behaved, housebroken gentleman who loves all adults, kids, dogs, and even cats. Romeo’s favorite pastime is lounging outside in the sun, soaking up the warmth and enjoying the world around him. His gentle, loving nature makes him an ideal companion for a retired individual or couple. He thrives in a calm, cozy home and would prefer someone who works from home or spends most of their time at home. Romeo is ready to bring endless love and comfort to his forever family—could that be you?

Story
My dog has been wonderful to our family. However, after our family broke due to a divorce some years ago, I S a single woman have had trouble taking care of him. This is due to time constraints as well as extensive travel schedules for work. He is a very calm dog, and we always called him a cat dog. He is a wonderful pet and our family will miss him, but unfortunately, I cannot take care of him on my own anymore.

Story
Calling all small dog lovers…meet your match! Meet Mama M’Lynn! This girl is sweet and spunky all in one; but will require a special home so please make sure to read through the bio before you apply! Mama M’Lynn and her 1 day old babies came to us from our Nashville Metro Animal Care and Control after her owner passed away. She had been living in a car and was very unsure of new people. We will say she has been #momoftheyear and her babies are perfect and now ready for their next phase! And now, it’s this sweet girls turn. M’Lynn can take a minute to warm up, but It doesn’t take long for her to become a puddle of mush to her female caretakers. We have not been able to get her to come around to men or kids. We think it is just too much for her. So, we are looking for a patient, quiet woman or women only home. She loves to go for walks and will do fine with another dog that will give her space….but she will also appreciate a cuddle with another dog every now and then. Could you be the home that completes this girls happy ending? We believe she is a Chi-Weenie mix and weighs around 11 lbs. She does great on a leash, loves her sweaters and a nice warm lap. She is potty trained, crate trained and is sure to make you laugh. She is up to date on vaccines, is scheduled to be spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. Please note that we are a completely volunteer run organization and may take 48 hours to respond. Please make sure to fully complete your application. If responses are not complete, you may not be contacted due to the volume of applications. We can only set up meet and greets once an application has been approved. Thank you for understanding. Story
Meet our Steal Magnolias girls! These spunky, fun loving girls are as cute and fun as can be…and pack a punch for their size. Coming in at about 4 lbs each…they are definitely not quite aware of their size (shocking, I know). Based on size, looks and mom, we believe these ladies are chihuahua/dachshund mixes…however we think there may be a few other things mixed in there as well. They have been working hard on their pee pad training (due to the frigid temps) and crate training and we would say they are doing fantastic! They have been fostered in homes with dogs of all sizes and done great. They love kids, however please remember they are small, so they would do best in a home that is familiar with dogs. Cats are unknown, however, they would likely do just fine with a dog savvy cat as they are smaller than most cats. Their adoption fee is $325. They will be fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed and on preventative. If you think one of these girls would be a fit for your family, apply today! Please note that we are a completely volunteer run organization and may take 48 hours to respond. Please make sure to fully complete your application. Story
Tidbit is a teeny 10lb senior little who in incredibly sweet but does have a laundry list of medical issues including dental disease, luxating patellas, Heartworm, and has a 4/6 heart murmur. He has tackled Heartworm treatment and came through like a champ so he will be able to have a dental and be neutered middle of February! His last vet appointment the vet did think his murmur was less significant than they though so we'll take it! Bonaparte's Retreat will be more than happy to take on the costs for his care.February 3, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
