Hello World! My name is Fibi Dove and look at my BEAUTIFUL hair!! I mean look at it! It is all coming in and getting longer and longer!! And I love it!! It may seem a little weird that I am so happy to have hair, but it has been a long-time coming in. Let me tell you, my story. It was a dark and stormy night in a little town in Texas.... Well, I don't really know if it was dark or stormy, but it was in Texas. Anyhow, I was picked up by the dog police in a little town and I was very naked with infected itchy skin that made me nuts. I didn't have very much hair on my body and from my looks of me, it had been that way for a long time. The rescue pulled me from the dog place, and I started on my journey to get well. They tried this med and that antibiotic and this itchy treatment and that shampoo, but nothing worked until they figured out that I am probably allergic to beef and chicken, and who knows what else. My beautiful hair started to come back in when I started eating Salmon and lentil food and getting medicine for allergies from the vet. Finally, the itches were going away!! Yay!! I also was found to have the dreaded heartworms which I have undergone the slow kill treatment for, and I am all finished with that as well. Heartworm medications will be sent with me to continue my treatment routine for a year. During my many vet visits, it was found that I have a 5/6 heart murmur that is being treated with a pet heart medicine for life. I didn't have any symptoms, but they wanted to keep my heart strong, so the medicine was ordered. Because I was on the street for who knows how long, I am a little possessive of my food bowl at feeding time. I live with 3 other chihuahuas and we all eat out of separate bowls in the same room. I will growl at the others if they finish before I do and come to look in my bowl for more. But at 7.5 pounds, I am not much of a threat to anyone, but they listen to me and back off. I also live with cats and several other non-chihuahua dogs, one is 97# and I get along with them all. Personality wise, I am very sweet to people. I love to share you bed or lap and now that my skin is healed up, it is a lot comfier for me and for you to put me there. I do know how to go in and out the doggie door and when that isn't available to me, I have been known to use the potty pads that are out for the 18-year-old chihuahua that lives here with foster mom. Because of my medical history, I will need an adopter who understands my needs and is willing to follow through with my medical routine. If you think you can put up with giving me the pills, which I love in canned cheese on top of my kibble and green beans, then please fill out an application and let's talk! Calling all small dog lovers…meet your match! Meet Mama M’Lynn! This girl is sweet and spunky all in one; but will require a special home so please make sure to read through the bio before you apply! Mama M’Lynn and her 1 day old babies came to us from our Nashville Metro Animal Care and Control after her owner passed away. She had been living in a car and was very unsure of new people. We will say she has been #momoftheyear and her babies are perfect and now ready for their next phase! And now, it’s this sweet girls turn. M’Lynn can take a minute to warm up, but It doesn’t take long for her to become a puddle of mush to her female caretakers. We have not been able to get her to come around to men or kids. We think it is just too much for her. So, we are looking for a patient, quiet woman or women only home. She loves to go for walks and will do fine with another dog that will give her space….but she will also appreciate a cuddle with another dog every now and then. Could you be the home that completes this girls happy ending? We believe she is a Chi-Weenie mix and weighs around 11 lbs. She does great on a leash, loves her sweaters and a nice warm lap. She is potty trained, crate trained and is sure to make you laugh. She is up to date on vaccines, is scheduled to be spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. Please note that we are a completely volunteer run organization and may take 48 hours to respond. Please make sure to fully complete your application. Tidbit is a teeny 10lb senior little who in incredibly sweet but does have a laundry list of medical issues including dental disease, luxating patellas, Heartworm, and has a 4/6 heart murmur. He is a very sweet little guy who LOVES to play with other dogs so would do great in a home with another one. He doesn't seem to mind the size of the dog, and seems to want to play with whatever size is in front of him, but another dog seems to really help Tidbit acclimate to his surroundings for sure! We have learned that Tidbit does have storm anxiety but we have some good meds to help him with that! He also visited the vet June 24th and we know that we will be able to neuter him and give him a good dental after he goes through Heartworm treatment, which he completed end of August, and we also learned that his heart is not yet enlarged so yay for that! Roxie is 6 years old, non spayed female chihuahua. Shots 2 months expired. Best in a home without other dogs. I love Roxie and she has been my best friend since I got her. The bond I have with her is what makes this so hard but I know there’s someone who could do better for her. She was a gift to me when I was 17. As the time comes for me to move out I cannot bring her with me. She is a barker and I can’t risk bringing her into a place she is not allowed. She is picky with her friends but does have them! She definitely prefers smaller dogs. Roxie does have jealousy issues with your personal attention on other dogs. Doggy door access is best for her and she is crate trained. She loves soft toys and little tennis balls. She doesn’t like hard rubbery ones. Roxie is great on walks and cannot get enough of the sun when bathing in it. Her favorite thing is cuddles and lying under blankets.
