Hi there. I am Ory, short for Oreja (means animal ears in Spanish). As you can see, I have quite large ears so foster mom thought the name fit me well. I am a 15 pound, male, chi mix ( most likely chiweenie). I have a long daschund body, expressive eyes ( for catching the babes) and fox ears. I was found running down the alley in foster mom's neighborhood. I wasn't chipped and no one recognized me so foster mom took me home and got me into the rescue. I did turn out to be heartworm positive but just went through treatment and I'm a new guy! I'm ready to go to a home that will keep me on heartworm prevention so that I don't get those pesky worms again. I am housebroken, crate trained and very obedient. I love going on car rides and for walks. I am a very quiet dog who likes to sit next to my person while they watch tv or read a book. Foster mom says I'm a major cuddler who loves to sleep under a bunch of blankets in my crate. She sometimes can only see my tail! I get along with other dogs and respect their space. I love people and allow children to pet me when they come up to me on walks. It is unknown how I do with cats as foster mom does not have any. I do love to chase squirrels and birds though so it's possible I might chase cats too. I do have some mild separation anxiety and would love to be in a home with a retiree or someone who works from home. It isn't necessary to have someone home all the time though as I do settle down in my crate after just a few minutes of crying. I do need to live in a home with a secure fence as I have a tendency to run away if given an opportunity. The tendency to take off is probably why I ended up being found as a stray since I definately didn't look like I had missed any meals! Iol So, as you can see, I'm an all around good guy to have around for someone looking for a companion. Are you that person? If so, have your peeps call my peeps and I'll be right over.

Meet Punky! She is very sweet and friendly. Punky loves lounging out in the sunshine and hanging out with her people. She is not yappy and plays well with other dogs. Per her previous owner, Punky has a mild chicken allergy so she shouldn't eat any food or treats with chicken in it. She also has a cataract in her right eye. This has limited her vision a bit but you would never know it! Punky has been fabulous in her foster home. They love her and have no complaints! Punky has been to PetSmart with her foster and has gone on lots of long walks. She is an active little girl who loves to explore. She is crate trained and 99.9% house broken (she may have an accident or two when adjusting to a new home). From her foster: "Punky is a perfect mix of playful energy and couch potato. Seffy was adopted from an animal shelter in Florida when he was 1 year old. He has been with an elderly couple (and now a widow) for the last 13 1/2 years. He is very attached to one person, and shy and fearful of other people initially. His owner is unable to take care of him anymore, and he is in need of a new home. He has no health issues and is housebroken with regular trips outside (every 4-5 hours) during the day. Seffy sleeps with his owner at night. He has spent most of his life indoors in a quiet setting.

Not only is he an older gentlemen this poor little guy is blind. Just imagine how scary that must have been. He was there for a few days before Miss Sabra was made aware of this plight. A foster was found in Arkansas and now Lucky is saved from the shelter. Now he is in Tennessee looking for his forever home. This little guy is a delight. He is good with other dogs and he LOVES people. Lucky gets around just fine once he has figured the house out. He likes nothing better though than to be in the chair or on the sofa with you. Actually on you. He loves to cuddle and is a great little companion. Lucky is comfortable in a crate and does not mind sleeping in one but he would like to be in the same room with you. He will also ride in the crate while you do errands as long as it is not too hot or cold. Lucky does his business as soon as his feet hit the grass and will use a pee pad if you are not home. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying. But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle. Can you believe that underbite he has? I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him. My name is Prince Charlie and I am truly a dog with some royal habits in my everyday life. I was found on a rural back road in Tennessee and I just think that somehow my owners were misguided in dropping me off in the middle of nowhere. They didn’t explain but I think it was financial problems. But apparently the vet says that I am an adorable 8-year-old cream-coloredPug/Chihuahua boy with a heart of gold! I really don’t weigh much at all and the scales at the vet said 13 pounds. What I can say is that I am a strong and “bounce back “ boy that is ready to make your life happier and more loving with me by y our side. But listen up. I may be 8 years old, but I have a whole lot of energy to spare and so “senior” movements are not what I am all about at all. I can have the zoomies like the best of the youngsters out there. Hey…maybe they guessed my age wrong. Anyway, calling me a senior is maybe just in age but I don’t act like one and I don’t intend to. I am a boy that you can take out on walks, hikes, or social events outside and I will help you make more friends than you could ever imagine. I love all the dogs and cats at my foster home. I just love anything and everyone! The one thing that I am still learning after a short time in my foster home, is the house-training skills. But I can say that I am eager to please and so I am a great student trying to pass my house training exam. I am ready to be your fun machine, your love machine and your friendship matchmaker. Silver Sam is 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Part of a big hoarding case, he was taken to the shelter and there he sat for a few months. Critter Cavalry Rescue could not stand the thought that he was in that out of the way shelter where no one comes to adopt a dog. We pulled 7 dogs from that hoarding case and some had been there for 6 months. Sam is a hoot as they say. He is funny and active and must be watched if in a chain link fenced yard. He might find an escape route and take off just for the fun of it. He doesn’t go far but he sure does love the chase. He is good with other dogs and he is full of antics with the cats. He is almost housebroken and he is just the most loving lap dog ever. Such a great smile and attitude despite some terrible conditions in his previous life. He is with someone that loves the Chihuahua breed and understands all the little quirks. He really has not bad habits except the fun of occasionally making a run for it just to see you panic. Niko is out senior 10 year old guy that is a Chihuahua through and through. At just 9 pounds, Niko still carries a powerful punch with this large personality and his strong mind that knows just what he wants and when he wants it. He is a lap boy that needs a slow introduction to new people so he can learn to trust them. His owner became too sick and had to move and the place he moved to would not allow Niko or Princess his two chihuahuas. Critter Cavalry Rescue took them in and made sure they were cared for and fully vetted and bloodwork done to insure their good health status as seniors. Niko has a typical heart murmur like most Chis but no real heart issues from it. Probably there from birth. He is spunky and pretty much housebroken and good on a leash. He loves car rides and snuggle time. He will love you forever and will protect you like a knight in shining armor if he thinks any bad guys are trying to harm you. The momma dog's owner experienced a crisis and needed help with her dog; but unknown to her, momma was pregnant. Thankfully because of fosters and supporters, SOAR was able to help place the puppies while mommy was spayed, vaccinated and got to go back to her loving home! The puppies' mom is approximately 15 pounds and her puppies will be small breed pups when full grown. We think they may be Pomeranian mixes and will be all things little dog personality - fun, spunky, playful, happy to use their bark and love a nice lap to cuddle in. The Sunglasses pups have an adoption fee of $325 each. They are up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on prevention. They will also be scheduled to be spayed or neutered by the rescue. Due to high demand these puppies will only be posted for a few days, and then we will process applications.
