Story
Available in TX only! Meet Rusty, a charming 6-year-old, chocolate-colored Chihuahua weighing 19 pounds of pure love! This little guy is a big fan of plush toys (though he tends to snack on them, so we're keeping an eye on that!). Rusty loves wearing clothes, not for fashion, but because he's always cold and needs to stay warm. He's house trained, fantastic on walks, and adores all people, especially kids. He's been the star of many outings, including a back-to-school haircut event, where he soaked up all the cuddles. Though Rusty is a bit of a flight risk, he's also a Velcro dog who sticks by your side. Just be mindful of food within his reach-he's a bit mischievous! Rusty is ready to bring warmth, fun, and loyalty to his forever home. Could that be with you? To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. To apply directly for Rusty click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-467 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Meet Susie Q! Susie Q was found after being dumped at a school and was seen going through dumpsters just to survive. Susie is just baby. We are guessing she was born at the beginning of 2024. At first with thought she was a chihuahua/doxie mix, but I think she may have some Italian Greyhound or Min Pin in her too. Whatever her mix is, she is cute and I LOVE her big ears! She weighs around 15 pounds, spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. This girl loves to play anywhere she is, inside or outside! She is great with people, but may play too hard for small kids. She is good with other dogs, but is not a huge fan of cats. Susie is good in the house as long as she gets plenty of potty breaks and toys to chew on! Garbage must be secured as well because she hasn’t broken the habit of thinking she’s got to go through garbage to eat, poor girl. The adoption fee is $200 to an approved and loving home. All vet records and her harness/leash will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. We do keep our website and Petfinder updated regularly. Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply. Thank you for looking at our rescues in need of amazing homes!

Story
Meet Nina! Nina and her puppies were needing a new place to go so they wouldn’t be sent to animal control. Her puppies have been placed (by another rescue) and now it’s Nina’s turn to find HER place to live the good life, from here on out! She is around 2 years old and weighs around 8 pounds. Nina is spayed (so no more litters for her anymore), current on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Nina is great with dogs, some cats (if they run, she will chase usually), and CALM kids. We would like her to have another dog friend in the home. She is a snuggle bug and oh so sweet! She is good in the house as long as she gets plenty of potty breaks. However, please expect accidents with any pet is in a new environment. She has a fence here, so if there is no fence and she is leash walked, she will have to get used to leash walking. (A fence is highly preferred) The adoption fee is $225 to an approved and loving home. All vet records and her collar or harness will be given to the adopter(s) at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. Story
Meet Trigger Trigger was dumped at a friend of mines moms’ house around the beginning of August 2024. He is a very good boy and gets along well with people and other dogs. Not sure about cats as the fosters are allergic to kitties, but I would imagine he would be fine since he’s seems so sweet. He does have an old leg injury, that has healed, so he limps slightly. He is around 2 years old and around 10 pounds. Trigger is neutered, updated on all shots, and heartworm tested negative. He will need to be kept on heartworm prevention his whole life, like all dogs should. The adopt fee to cover his care and vetting is $150 to an approve and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. Story
Meet Tweeks! Tweeks is approximately 7-8 yrs old and weighs 8 pounds. He's the sweetest, loving, easy going boy, who loves to be near his person. Tweeks will be neutered, updated on all shots, microchipped, and heartworm tested (hopefully he will be heartworm negative) on 11-8. He would love a home where someone is retired or home more often to spend lots of time with him. He's the perfect lap buddy and companion. He will literally melt in your arms of contentment. Tweeks is working on house manners and does have some accidents, so he will need a patient adopter who will give him time to adjust and learn potty training. Please do not apply if you can't commit to allowing him this time. He loves people and gets attached quickly. Good with other small dogs, not sure about cats since his foster home doesn’t have cats. Older kids should be ok (over 12). Tweeks would definitely be the best boy if you need that best friend and loyal companion. The adoption fee is $150 to an approved and loving home. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting.
